His latest song ‘Empathy’ featuring Jenny G is all about the emotion evoked through music and the things he feels when deep in the creative process.
“So much of being an artist and a producer for me is all about the way the creative process makes me feel. Honestly over the years, that is the main thing that has kept me going. I believe that if I can find ways to move myself emotionally while I’m creating, that eventually those feelings will move through others as well, when they listen to my music or see me perform. It’s all about creating opportunities for real connections with others. That’s what I’m after. Connection.” says the artist

After a break from music I came back under the name island banks and have since made 2 singles since July 2020. One of which is a UK garage track and was praised by the UK garage master himself, Artful dodgers very own Mark Hill. In a video response to my track “only one” Mark gave constructive feedback and said that he loved the track and cannot wait to see what I come up with next. Mark is responsible for one half of the duo artful dodger along with Pete Devereux who made Craig David’s debut album, (born to do it).”

What motivates you to do music?
“Current events and personal situations is always key for me. Back in the day growing up my Dad raised us and he showed me the likes of, snoop dogg, NWA, the fugees, Eminem, LL Cool J, Public Enemy,Naughty by nature and many more. It was a very rap /hip hop household growing up.”

“My brother was into RnB and house music and my sister was pop music as she was a little younger so I had alot of music going on that’s why I can listen to many types of music and it helps me write my music today. With me I was into RnB and UK garage mainly and artists like Usher, Craig David, Dru Hill/Sisqo and many more influence my taste and style of music writing today.”

‘Shuger’, the new single by Ace the Fetus is the right kind of earworm that will make you obsessed with this artist’s music

I don’t know about you, but I love a good musical obsession. You know, the right kind of ear worm that wiggles into your brain and simply refuses to leave? That’s exactly what Ace the Fetus’s latest track, “Shuger”, will do to you. A strangely fascinating song and music video, “Shuger” tells the strange tale of obsession and touches upon a theme as old as time – love and the broken heart. It’s perhaps for this reason that the song has amassed such an impressive fandom in just over a month since its release. Or perhaps it’s Ace the Fetus’s strange, yet compelling presence.

You can tell Ace the Fetus is a highly accomplished and deeply unique musician from his latest release, the obsessive single “Shuger”. Right off the bat, the music video (starting with a moving box on legs) strikes you as peculiar, but also interesting. You want to know more. And once that slow, jazzy rhythm kicks in, you’re practically hooked.

Ace the Fetus has a low, melodic voice that vibes perfectly in pretty much any type of situation. It’s a great song for parties, or romantic evenings, and pretty much everything in between. “Shuger” is a fascinating track, both because of the pleasant beats, but also through its highly versatile nature. As the song progresses, you’ll notice Ace the Fetus’s style changes, shifting genres as smoothly as any experienced musician.

“Shuger” blends elements of jazz, alt rock, indie, and pop, and so manages to appeal to an immense range of different listeners.
It’s also why we think it will appeal to you, so what are you waiting for? Check out “Shuger” from Ace the Fetus now, and come back to thank us later.

Spliffy Mars is an up and coming artist who burst onto the streaming scene in 2019 and released his debut full length LP entitled “Hey,Mars?” earlier this year

Spliffy Mars is an up and coming artist who burst onto the streaming scene in 2019. Growing up around areas of Hartford and spending time in the suburbs before moving to East Atlanta at 14, he claims he’d been to so many schools with so many different people and backgrounds, that this diversity influenced the variety in his taste in music and style.

Growing up listening to artists like Chief Keef, Nirvana, Kanye West, Jay Electronica, Future and Tyler The Creator are just a handful of his inspirations. His unorthodox catchy melodic type style is often compared to artists like Playboi Carti, Young Thug, or Chief Keef, but Mars has his own unique style and voice. As he raps and sings over hard hitting 808s and energetic ethereal melodies his music basically just makes you want to sit and listen so you can relate or get up and have a fun time. He touches on the topic of his lifestyle a lot, as he recalls that he only makes music about what he has been through. “I don’t have time to sit down and write a song, that gives me time to cap”. “I’d rather take my time and make a song off the top and it be about real tragedies or real pain, or even the fun stuff I enjoy doing” – says Mars

Having always had a natural talent for songwriting, it wasn’t until late 2018 that Spliffy Mars decided to release his music into the world via SoundCloud. After a number of his tracks gained traction and he began building momentum with his fanbase, Spliffy Mars dropped his first project entitled “Strictly 4 My Rounds” which was released on all platforms on July 27th, 2019, where he showcased his new style and experimented early with the hyper pop or pop trap sound.
Since releasing this project Mars started building his fan base more by traveling the north east and doing a considerable amount of shows.

Spliffy Mars combines a variety of compositional and aesthetically pleasing elements to form his unique sound and style which differentiates himself from the basic crowd of hip hop music with sub genres such as hyper pop or spacious music.

Spliffy Mars dropped a 12 track length LP formatted album entitled “Hey,Mars?” executive produced by TySouf On March 19th of this year.

This LP marks the first full embodiment of the artist as it has not a single feature and only features the unique and bright mesmerizing vocal style of the artist as well as the high quality and thorough production of tysouf.

This new LP follows and continues the journey that Mars is embarking on, dabbling in the underground scene trying to break into the mainstream.

Mars talks about many topics from his lifestyle choices his upbringing and serious topics that he goes through in life while making it sound like a party song at the same time with songs like BraVo! or Lemonade. The whole album itself sets itself aside from many and is truly a pure album for those who just want to live life at the fullest potential with no regrets. Mars also claimed the album isn’t a story telling album it’s a project for you to just tap into his side of things as far as his emotions and different moods.

All the songs are very specific to the style Mars has been embodying recently. You can very much describe his music as very fantasy like and bouncy having melodies similar to pop music or having heavy inspiration from pop elements and the genre itself. At the same time when he is not using his fast paced and hyper flows, Mars can dumb down his vocal state to a real calm and low vibrational tone that will seemingly set the mood for any type of activity that involves relaxation or being under the influence.

Being versatile between these two styles he calls “Pop Trap and Spacious Music” it makes the music more exciting and more pulling to the listener. It’s not like u have an album full of the same song over and over again. A prime example on this project is like listening to the third track “Her Dance” produced by platinum producer Pierre Bourne, being an upbeat song with a faster tempo and having a happier melody then going into the fourth track with the song opening with a slower paced tempo and a melody sounding like it came straight out of a 1990s arcade game. Going towards the end of the project the songs go into a real chill state and ends with “Friends Till The End” which is a classic.

The Proper Authorities is the solo project of singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Keith Adams; check out the new single ‘Perfect Alibi’

Dreamy synth, high-power guitars, and a pulse-pounding rhythm section set the stage for this epic, sensual retrospective on a souring relationship, the increasingly visible cracks in its foundation, and the search for a truth that seems already discovered.

The Proper Authorities is the solo project of singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Keith Adams. Known primarily for his work with the bands Sound Mind and Giant Wow, where he shared bills with acts like Filter, Stabbing Westward, Meat Beat Manifesto, Alien Ant Farm, Moth, Jupiter One, Lab Partners, Dink, and many more. Adams created the Proper Authorities to branch out and work on his lifelong compositional and performance skills.

As in past groups, Adams continues to experiment strongly in the modern pop rock genre with sounds and grooves that aren’t usually found there.
His appreciation for over-the-top arrangements is tempered nicely by his love for good hooks. His lyrics touch on a variety of subjects: matters of self; emotional snapshots in time; tragic and comic figures; and the things that we all want… or at least think that we want.

With her new single named That’s Why, Marietta Grant is trying to show us how important it is to be grateful for the things you have in life

Marietta Grant is one of the fresh faces in the music industry, at least from a singing perspective. But Marietta is far from a newcomer. In fact, she started writing songs in 2010, and her passion for music was there even well before that. She is an artist focused on success, and on the idea that you always have a variety of amazing things you can do, all you need is to commit to those ideas and never give up.

Marietta has always been a contemporary singer whose focus is to make people reflect on their life, the challenges they encounter, but also the insecurities they have. Living in the modern day is very tricky, it requires a lot of self-control and confidence. Many of us don’t have that, and in the end that’s the thing that can lead to a variety of problems. That’s why Marietta wants to create music that helps us reflect on how to improve our lives. She also talks about other important things like gratitude and fully committing to success.

With her new single named That’s Why, Marietta is trying to show us how important it is to be grateful for the things you have in life. Yes, we always want to have more, but we ignore or under appreciate what really matters in our own lives. If you really want to reach success, then it’s important to know the essential stuff. Making sure that you appreciate your loved ones and having someone to fall back to at the end of the day is the truly important thing in life.

At the same time, the song is all about confidence, self-love and constantly taking care of yourself. Mental health and wellbeing are crucial, and they are addressed in this song as well. Marietta’s main focus is to help people open their eyes on the true issues that they are facing at this time. The commitment is to growth and success, and the experience can be second to none in the long run. With that being said, Marietta seamlessly combines R&B, pop and soul music to offer us a new perspective over life. And the best thing is that the tunes themselves help with that. The instrumental side of the track is very engaging, and it empowers you quite a bit.

Overall, this is an empowering song that shows how we should behave in life and what really matters. Sometimes we tend to add a lot of weight on things that aren’t important at all. That’s the reason why we must learn from mistakes and truly value what really matters. Once we start doing that, nothing can stand in our way. That’s what makes this song so engaging and rewarding, and we found it to be one of the coolest things about Marietta’s new release. She plans to release even more soul-nurturing and feel-good music, so we encourage you to keep an eye for her upcoming releases.

Multi-award winning singer/songwriter Meg Pfeiffer has released a new single ‘Push Baby’ with a strong, empowering message

Meg Pfeiffer is a multi award winning singer/songwriter from Germany, who has achieved international success using voice, loop station, drum pads and multi instrumentalism allowing her to rock the stage more than an entire band. Her unique vocal timbre, together with her exceptional songwriting skills, creates a magical atmosphere that reaches the soul from the first note.

In 2017 she participated with an original song “Love Is What We Need” as a finalist at the preselection for the Eurovision song contest, (the most prestigious song competition in all of Europe). Through talent, dedication and hard work she and her music have been heard on a global scale as she embarked on an intense touring schedule that had her playing in more than 15 countries, from USA to Russia, from Canada to China.

On Valentine’s Day, 2020 she released her fourth studio album NOPE. All songs and lyrics were written by her. The theme of Meg Pfeiffer’s album is right there in the title. These 23 songs are odes to the things she declines or she can’t deal with very well, such as the death of her father. She writes about a life that has strengthened her by death, rejection and unequal treatment. Saying “Nope” to the things that don’t do any good and at the end of the dark tunnel saying “Yes” to the things that are right. A very clear message told in 23 tracks on Nope. By taking on the additional role of the producer, Meg feels she has done it right and in her way. Next year Meg Pfeiffer and Luca Stricagnoli (husband) will be touring through Germany, the UK, Ireland, USA and Canada.”

Meg’s latest release, the single “Push Baby” follows this success. The single doesn’t just deliver with its cool modernity blended with the nostalgic sound of the eighties, it also breaks the barrier when it comes to a compelling, important subject – Equal Rights for Women.

The bass-heavy, playful beat merges wonderfully with her beguiling clear and unmistakable vocal timbre. “Push Baby” is “epic” pop in a super relaxed robe. Not just written and performed herself, but she also handled the production to make sure the song met her vision perfectly.

And because she wants to get her message to the point as clearly as possible, she has asked several strong women, who she has met in the music business, to join her in her music video for the song.
The video has been released to coincide with International Women’s Day – March 8th.

She took over the video production and editing once again, complete with crazy high energy outfits, delivering a fiery, rough expression, which she combines with a sunny play of enchanting colors.

Meg celebrates her independence and her unstoppable energy and discipline, challenging in a positive way every woman who feels oppressed to do exactly the same thing: to push forward and be successful. And in doing so, breaking down all the limits and restrictions that she has experienced as a woman and uniting forces instead of dividing them.
Check it out. And women, don’t forget to “Push Baby”.
