Everything is original on the album but in the future I want to sample.” says the artist Watch his latest single on Youtube:
True Ahmed has been making music since 2008. Ahmed grew up going to recording studios with his father, when he used to make music and fell in love with it ever since. In High School he saved enough money to build a small studio in his room and started to learn and expand his sound from there, but it was still early days. During Quarantine in 2020 he recorded over 300 songs, all unreleased and kept continuing to make music. He then decided to set a goal for himself, to record a whole mixtape in 2 days, and that is how ’So Versatile Vol. 1’ was born. “I set a goal to record as much as I can in one weekend and this is what I made.” says Ahmed. “My project is a compilation of 10 songs I thought fit into a style of mine. One of my songs ‘Run it Up’ is very meaningful to me because I got my dog barking in the song days before he passed away.”
He decided to title the mixtape “So Versatile Vol.1” because there is only one style out of many others he has with his music.
He continues, “It’s about the versatility. All the songs are similar but it’s within the different projects you can see it!”

Sweet Radish is a songwriting duo comprised of Morgan Velasquez (vocalist/lyricist) and Abe Rosenberg (multi-instrumentalist/composer). This husband and wife combo create original folk music with indie acoustic vibes, heart pounding rhythms and captivating melodies. Their music is a reflection of their lifestyle which sets them apart from any other musical group out there.
Additionally, the revenue that they make from music helps to support this lifestyle and all the “critters” who benefit from it. Morgan & Abe also own and operate Jack Rabbit Hollow Farm Animal Sanctuary and live off the grid where they produce music from their self made tiny house recording studio. The farm is run with permaculture principles and sustainable methods. They have goats, sheep, chickens, ducks and one pig who are all rescues and will live full lives free from the risk of slaughter. The animals are often featured in music videos and photos of the band.
Everything these musicians create is connected to something that helps to heal the land, the people, and the planet. In February 2021 they released a new 17 track album called Ballads & Heartstrings and will be releasing more music throughout the year. They have just released their single called ‘The Dust’, off of their album ‘Ballads & Heartstrings’.
Blind Season’s upcoming album is an ode to loneliness and toxicity that feel as if they were ripped from Billy Corgan’s Diary and featured in a film by Tim Burton. With the current questionable climate of the world there’s no question that this album will find its proper home and become a sign of the times.
Their next single release is called ‘How They See You’. Says founding member of the band, Shane Sigro of the song: “This song turned out a lot different than how I originally planned it to be. It’s a very funny and sarcastic take on a serious situation that I shouldn’t have been in with someone. I had to find a way to make it light hearted and this seemed like the best way. Looking back now I just laugh.”
Willow Woodward is a 17-year-old singer-songwriter from Bedford, New York. She grew up in a musical family and has been singing and playing instruments since she was young. After discovering songwriting about 5 years ago, Willow has worked tirelessly to improve her craft and grow as both a singer and songwriter.
After releasing her debut singles, “Superman” and “For the Love” in the Fall of 2019, she released a breakout success album, Hideaway, featuring nine original songs.
The collection of songs reflects the wide variety of Willow’s musical influences as the album threads together pop, county, and indie styles in a unique way.
The first track on the album, upbeat anthem “Out of the Shadows,” sets a positive tone for the album with a message about finding and being true to yourself, a key theme throughout the album as a whole. Following that are songs about love, joy, and forgiveness, and winding down with an enchanting conclusion – the country-filled holiday track “Christmas in July.” The acoustic-guitar ballad, seamlessly evoking artists like Kacey Musgraves and Colbie Caillat, was destined for holiday playlists everywhere.
Released in November 2020, Hideaway reached over 65,000 streams on Spotify and was played on more than 100 radio stations worldwide with an audience of 2.4 million people on digital radio. “For the Love” reached #122 on the Global Top 200 digital radio chart and was spun in heavy rotation around the U.S. on iHeart Radio, the country’s largest radio broadcaster. Willow is now signed with Sapphire, a subsidiary of Sony Orchard. Hideaway is a culmination of two years of fastidious effort from Willow in writing the lyrics, arranging the melodies on her piano and working in the studio to get the feel of each song just right.
She explains: “After writing the songs, I took some time before recording to play them for lives audiences, allowing them to grow, mature and be relatable, because I feel that the best songs are songs that every person can feel inside of them. All of these songs are a reflection of me as a person and artist, and I feel so grateful and excited to have my music brought to life out in the world for all to listen”.

Canada continues to change the game, first Drake, now with independent label Jet City Records’ debut album ‘City of the Jets.’
Music has long been praised by artists for saving them from the path they once walked and giving them an outlet through the tough moments in life. Independent record label Jet City Records, also known as Jet City is using their love of hip hop to touch the world. With the dark place the world is in due to the Covid pandemic, many have suffered, and many more are suffering. Jet City has chosen this time to debut their first album amid the crisis as a means to not only survive the lockdown but help the world navigate through it with their sound.
Jet city records is an indigenous/ Black-owned label from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada that began its journey in 2019. It’s artists and founder all share the same vision and purpose, to use music to better the world and reach those who need it most.
The label comprises of artists Loco 2k, Nucky Jmc, Big Ox, Rup Monsta and founder and ex-drug dealer Nigel Pahl, now known as Mic North. North is a testament to the power music has to spark change and find a way out of crime and poverty. Since his release from jail in 2011, music has continued to be his gateway from his past and the catalyst to a brighter positive future. With his life turning a new leaf, he has not only founded Jet City, but is an advocate for the youth with his youth-based workshop series ‘Maps Workshops.’
To date, Jet City has released a total of 21 music videos and their undeniable talent and genuine character has brought them a dedicated fanbase that continues to expand. Jet City has had its fair share of hardships throughout the pandemic not being able to perform and make the income they otherwise would, but their aim in hip-hop isn’t for wealth and fame, but to use their love of the genre to create songs that can help someone get through whatever storms they are enduring. To this end, they have also created their podcast ‘Hip Hop is Life’ to connect with their fans and be present through these trying times.
With the 13-track album making its arrival on January 1st, Jet City has released two singles, ‘Highs and Lows’ and ‘Moment.’ Each serve as a medicine to the world. The first, ‘Highs and Lows’ discusses the brutal reality of suicide and the tragedy of the missing, murdered men and women across Canada and the world. The accompanying music video is scheduled for release on January 15th and features Nucky Jmc, Ag Souljah and Mic North delivering an uplifting final verse. Nucky Jmc is currently enjoying the success of his number one hit ‘Forever’ on the Indigenous Music Countdown while Ag Souljah who is also an Indigenous artist is making moves creating his lane as a dope and talented artist.
The second single ‘Moment’ revolves around love and being the moment with a special someone. It features a smooth hook from Loco 2k, and a bridge of similar depth by Aye Michelle while Mic north and Rup Monsta does their thing on the verses.
It’s often hard to find a good, strong Gospel artist these days who is as abundantly talented and dedicated to her music as Phaze3.
Phaze3 is an up-and-coming artist who combines several genres, her focus being mainly on trap, rap, and of course Gospel. Having first discovered her passion for music while singing in the church chorus in her hometown, Phaze3 has kept her connection with the church strong, and you can clearly see that in her music.
Her latest release, the album so appropriately entitled “A Warrior’s Call” speaks of her faith, and of the strength and resoluteness that faith has brought with it. As a World Religious Leader and a spiritual healer, Phaze3 has seen a lot of what the world has to offer, both in good and bad and she deftly combines all her knowledge to put together this new masterful album of Gospel.
A vibrant and ecstatic display of faith and inner strength that beautifully brings Gospel into the 21st century. If you were under the mistaken impression that this was a genre abandoned in the past, you simply need to listen to “A Warrior’s Call” a couple of times to see that Gospel is alive and well.
“Cosign” is part musical call to arms, part sermon, no doubt inspired by the many group prayers that the artist has led over the years. It is an infectiously happy and positive song that rapidly gets into your bones and enthralls you.
“The Perils”, on the other hand, comes across as much softer while showcasing two different parts of Phaze3 – the soft, melodious Gospel tone, and the hardcore, street rapping style. These two come together beautifully to highlight the duality of humanity, and especially of this beautiful, wonderfully versatile artist.
“A Warrior’s Call” is an album you want to put on if you’re feeling down or stuck in a rut, and what truly astounds is that it’s just as meaningful an album to the agnostic listener as it is to a devout believer.
