On the underground scene in the mid 80’s through the late 90’s releasing several demos and a full length cd “Return of the Witch”. The band broke up and the members went in different directions remaining on the scene for decades in other projects. Mark Friday’s son found a box of old cd’s and so hear I am promoting this old ass music to pave the way for some new shit.

The new stuff is being recorded in a professional studio (TRAX 52) and will be professionally mixed & mastered. It should have a more polished sound, but it will not lose the hard-core edge or the complex song structure. Like the Phoenix, Friday Dies will rise from the ashes anew with strength and inspiration.

Last Friday, August 4th, the Brazilian band Armored Dawn released their newest single “Brand New Way”, which is part of the band’s forthcoming fourth album, which will be released in the second half of 2023. Different from the heavy theme of the last singles “S.O.S.” and “Tides”, “Brand New Way” brings a more optimistic view of life, of how we shouldn’t let ourselves be overwhelmed by defeats or by those who want to bring us down, as there is always a new beginning and a new path to follow.

As is Armored Dawn’s tradition, the new single also features a super-produced music video, directed by Rafael Agostino, also the band’s keyboardist. The current lineup features Eduardo Parras (vocals), Tiago de Moura and Timo Kaarkoski (guitars), Heros Trench (bass), Rafael Agostino (keyboards) and Chris Oliveira (drums).

Armored Dawn emerged in 2014 and became relevant in the Brazilian metal scene. After all, they played tours and shows alongside great bands like Saxon, Megadeth, Scorpions, Whitesnake, Europe, Hammerfall, Rhapsody, Fates Warning, Sabaton and Tarja.

The first two albums Power of Warrior (2016) and Barbarians in Black (2018), were produced by great names like Tommy Hansen (Helloween, Jorn), Bruno Agra (We Are Harlot) and Kato Khandwala (The Pretty Reckless, Papa Roach).

The third album, Viking Zombie, was produced, mixed and mastered by Rodrigo Oliveira and Heros Trench, the latter a veteran producer with over 200 bands under his belt and a Latin Grammy.

Featuring a sophisticated and versatile metal, the band collects great works in videos, such as “Sail Away”, which had a cinematic production, as well as “Beware of the Dragon”, shown in all movie theaters in Brazil during the trailers for the movie Aquaman, in 2018. “Ragnarok” and “Animal Uncaged” (recorded at the Rockfest festival, at Allianz Parque, São Paulo, when they played for around 37,000 people) add up to millions of views on YouTube.

During the pandemic, they released the single “Stronger Together”, which was very well accepted by the public.

Then, already preparing the ground for the forthcoming fourth album, “Brand New Way”, they released the singles “S.O.S.” which featured an amazing music video, and the heavy and melancholy “Tides”.

Recorded at Dharma Studios, mixed by Chris Lord Alge (Muse, Green Day, Nickelback) and mastered by Ted Jensen (Bring Me The Horizon, Evanescence, Metallica), the album will be released later this year.

MINOH is a Korean-German synth-punk duo based in Aachen, Germany comprising Jamin on vocals and guitars and Guido on vocals and bass. Though the project may be young, both artists have been cutting
their teeth in punk, new wave, hardcore and metal bands for the past 20 years. What started as a solo project in Jamin’s home studio during the pandemic became a duo when her boyfriend, Guido, joined her on bass and rearranged her songs into disco-punk versions after a local punk band was searching for a support band.

Since then, MINOH has become well-known in the touring circuits in Aachen and Belgium as they record
and prepare for the launch of their debut album. The first release was a demo EP released on Bandcamp,
which received rave reviews from Ox- Magazine. Following the release of the final mix of Million Miles,
MINOH plans to release a string of singles throughout the year ahead of their debut LP.

Hollywood is known as the center of the movie business and the entertainment industry. But how did it all begin? Let’s take a look at the history of Hollywood and the movie business to date.

In the late 1800s, Thomas Edison and his team of inventors developed the first motion picture camera, which they called the kinetoscope. The first motion pictures were short, silent films that were shown in traveling circuses and amusement parks.

In 1902, a man named Edwin S. Porter directed the first narrative film, “The Great Train Robbery.” It was a sensation, and people began flocking to the new medium of film.

In 1913, a group of independent filmmakers moved to Hollywood to escape the monopolistic control of Edison and his company, and to take advantage of the sunny weather and diverse landscape for filming. They founded the first movie studios in Hollywood, including Universal, Paramount, and Warner Bros.

The 1920s and 1930s were known as the Golden Age of Hollywood. This was a time of glamour, with iconic movie stars like Greta Garbo, Clark Gable, and Marlene Dietrich, and extravagant productions like “Gone with the Wind” and “The Wizard of Oz.” During this time, Hollywood became the center of the movie industry and a symbol of American culture around the world.

However, the movie business faced many challenges in the following decades. The rise of television in the 1950s and 1960s led to a decline in movie attendance, and many studios struggled to adapt. The rise of home video in the 1980s and 1990s posed another challenge, as audiences could now watch movies from the comfort of their own homes.

Despite these challenges, Hollywood has continued to evolve and innovate. The rise of digital technology has led to new opportunities for filmmaking and distribution, and Hollywood has expanded its reach to global audiences through the internet and streaming platforms.

Christina Winterfell is a creative woman in many ways. Mostly she has focused on her professional work as a social educator/behavioral scientist/ KBT coach and being a mother to 2 now teenage sons. 

She has sung and recorded records with both groups and as a solo artist over the years and performed in clubs and events in Stockholm and other places in Sweden and Europe.She has also written and illustrated children’s books in Swedish and English and for five years she has entertained people in radio as a radio presenter.

The band Kryour, which has established itself as one of the prominent names in metal in Brazil, released on March 3rd, on all digital platforms, the unprecedented single “Why Should I Know?”. The band, which is based on melodic death metal and metalcore, plans to release an EP in the near future, in which it explores musical references and styles, arrangements and effects in more depth, resulting in more memorable songs.

Formed in 2014, Kryour released their debut album, Where Treasures Are Nothing, in 2019, a conceptual work that revolves around the facts from birth to death and addresses human values and resilience. The work, composed of eleven original tracks, was produced by Diego Castro, and the cover was in charge of Carlos Fides (Evergrey, Narnia, Semblant, Shaman).

With the great repercussion between the audience and the specialized media, Kryour got the opportunity to open the concert of the consecrated legend of prog metal, Symphony X, in Limeira, in the interior of São Paulo. In 2020, they were one of the winning bands of the New Rock Bands cultural contest, which had more than 700 entries. The current formation of Kryour has Gustavo Iandoli (vocals and guitar), Guba Oliveira (guitar), Gustavo Muniz (bass) and Matt Carrilho (drums).

The single “Why Should I Know?” is the first step in this new stage of Kryour’s career. The band continues to work on new compositions and plans to return to the stage, after a period of hiatus due to the pandemic, to promote their new releases.

The marriage between her harmonious and emotion-drenched vocals and the melodious beats create an addicting and quite frankly unforgettable sound that will remain ingrained in your head even after the tune is no more. The tune also carries a deeply meaningful theme at its core about getting caught up in a toxic relationship where you really can’t stay but still can’t let go; – it is like you are caught in this endless loop within yourself. Most of us have actually been caught within yourself.

Most of us have actually been caught up in this situation where it literally kills you to love someone else and that is why this track is likely to resonate deeply with you! “The Land” is a dense song, which addresses a heavy issue of extreme urgency and importance.

“For us the lyrics of ‘The Land’ are the most meaningful of the album, they strike a nerve in all of us as South American born musicians, as Venezuelans, Brazilians and Colombians. I can’t help but feel the frustration, the powerless feeling of seeing our Amazon forest being eaten alive by corporate interests (…) We are part of this problem, we are part of a society that directly or indirectly endorse atrocities against mother nature and against indigenous people.” comments vocalist Alejandro Montoya.

The track also features a music video with cinematic images that masterfully makes us feel the overload of anger and sadness at seeing countless corporations, governments and looters together acting as an evil front that our ‘Amazonas’ have no defense from.

By addressing a topic like this, the single is able to make the public reflect on this problem, on what could be done to prevent the destruction of forests, tribes and biodiversity in order to preserve the largest tropical forest on the planet. Alejandro says: “(…) this happens in our backyard. In the south of Venezuela, in the north of Brazil, in the southeast of Colombia. The worst part is to realize that this horror story doesn’t play in a far away world where the good and the bad guys are easily identifiable… Sadly, we as society in 2023 don’t seem to differ a lot from the “bad people” in our History books.”

Musically speaking, when listening to the song for the first time, the first impression is dark but as the bass-line becomes clear you find yourself in a 70’s psychedelic rock feel, the climax of this intro builds slowly and it results on a powerful drum beat filled with toms and a heavy open guitar riff. The music is as dense and heavy as the subject of its lyrics. It goes through atmospheres of dark rock and sections where Slash-like solos catch the attention of the listener. Paulo, who besides bringing his SEPULTURA trademark sound also explores beyond it, lots of 70’s inspired bass lines with plenty of dynamics that can be heard in his playing during this song.

In the studio the band explored new ideas and found a musical common ground. The resulting style retained elements of the psychedelic-sludgy past, but incorporated the groove of a more metal oriented vibe that Paulo brought in with his SEPULTURA influence.

So, how should South American heavy music sound like nowadays? The answer is easy – just listen to “Camino De Brujos”, an album which explores both new and old musical textures. The power of thrash metal meets the eeriness of sludge and the melancholic feel of classic rock.

“The album title ‘Camino de Brujos’ can be roughly translated as ‘Trail of Witches’. Do you remember the little story about letting your subconscious make artistic choices? Well this is one of the best examples, ‘Camino de Brujos’ is the main line sang on top of a nasty slow riff, the song is filled with tribal ritual percussion, typical from south America’s black magic practices. The phrase didn’t only end up being the only lyrics sang on the song but it also gave the name and identity to the album”, explains Alejandro Londono Montoya.

“Wayfaring Stranger” was recorded at renowned Dharma Studios and mixed and mastered by renowned producer Heros Trench, a Latin Grammy winner, with more than 200 bands under his belt.
The band decided to record a new version of the song after some members had watched the movie “1917”, whose soundtrack features “Wayfaring Stranger” in a scene that brings a lot of reflection to the audience. The song is popular from the American Christian songbook, and it talks about a lonely walker who goes through the odds of this world, and hopes to get to heaven, the place where his loved ones already are.

The current lineup of Armored Dawn, which includes Eduardo Parras (vocals), Tiago de Moura and Timo Kaarkoski (guitars), Heros Trench (bass), Rafael Agostino (keyboards) and Chris Oliveira (drums), continues to work on future releases.

Spencer also taught Earl Langham Jr, about the Music business. Spencer brought Earl along with him on shows and behind the scene and told Earl to watch what going on around him and study the business.

Earl helped his cousin Spencer on projects when he works with lil Flip out of Houston Texas. Earl got to meet a lot of the Big Major Independent artist out of Houston Texas, such as Z ro, Trae da Truth, Lil KEKE, Hawk, (R.I.P.) and Moe (R.I.P.), Street Military, D. and many others. What Earl, learn from these big, name is that, if you work hard at your craft, you will earn the respect of the streets which will become your fans. Australian Pop Singer popularly known as T8iana, a passionate advocate for the LGTBI+ community, has strongly reacted to the hate attack shooting at the Gay nightspot Club Q in Colorado Springs, U.S, which recently made worldwide news.

T8iana, a talented musician, who has met with success on the UK i-tunes daily top 40 and 100 dance charts throughout 2022 and who was also featured in the Rolling Stone Magazine’s Global Artist spotlight earlier this year, has released a new pop-dance single ‘Celebrat8ion’ with an enthralling music video which she calls a visually creative and musically/lyrically charged ‘response’.

A colourful yet strong retaliation/reaction to the unfortunate incident, the clip has been intentionally filmed at Melbourne’s iconic LGTBI favoured nightclub – ‘Lovemachine’ which itself was the site of a violent gun shooting in 2019 (though for unrelated reasons). “The choice of this particular nightclub as the location for the video is to highlight the need for safety and to encourage the LGTBI+ community to stand up against the hatred and stereotyping towards them while not letting such incidents deter them from leading anything less than a glorious life”, says T8iana.

The video incorporates stunning visuals, powerful choreography and features T8iana drawing a big heart symbol on the bare chest of a strapping male dancer to convey peace and raising her arms up in the air as if asking for heavens to listen to her plea.

In a bold move, T8iana has also written to the Australian PM, Anthony Albanese, to draw attention towards the need for the police to play a more engaged role in ensuring the safety of the LGTBI+ community in the nation. The Minister’s office is yet to respond.

The Star Observer magazine in Australia reports that crimes against the LGTBI have more than quadrupled since 2004. In Feb 2022, a gang of teenage boys was arrested over repeated heinous hate crimes towards gay men in Melbourne, Australia.

‘This your dancefloor, dance the night away, this is your religion don’t let them take it away,’ sings T8iana on the track, as a metaphorical reference to the LGTBI+ life and rights – a thought echoed by thousands of her followers on her Instagram handle t8iana.offical

This song gloriously celebrates the community’s right to celebrate their love for whoever they wish to love in a safe, inclusive, accepting community. It has been written/performed by T8iana and produced by Clarence Jey, a U.S based Grammy winning record producer.

T8iana is currently working with legendary Australian Sound Engineer Doug Brady who has been involved in big recording projects for Aussie greats like John Farnham, Jimmy Barnes and Olivia Newton John to name a few, and who has also recorded the soundtrack for the iconic 1980s film Crocodile Dundee.

Since the beginning of her career in the 1960s, Martha High feels privileged to travel around the world to entertain audiences who love her voice and feel the spirit of love she conveys each time she steps onto the stage.

“I am so blessed to have sung on countless albums with the best of the best. When I started releasing my own albums I kept thinking that I’d do a Christmas album someday,” Martha said. Her producer and friend, Michael Edell, said he’d be honored to produce her next album in time for the holidays and that was it!

Martha and Michael began working on a list of Christmas songs in the Summer of 2022, borrowing from the classics to contemporary sounds. Martha said, “We just had to do Santa Baby, but I wanted to put a different spin on it. The Christmas Song is one of my all-time favorites. We then added Wham’s Last Christmas upon the recommendation of a friend, so I asked Michael Edell to make it real soulful to make it stand out and he did just that!”

Another of Martha’s dearest friends is author Dr. Yemaja Jubilee whose books feature many of Martha’s artistic paintings and sketches. Martha told Michael, “Dr. Jubilee has written a song that we must do on our Christmas album!” Dr. Jubilee contributed It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year, which is an invitation to celebrate love, culture and humanity during the holiday season.

Martha’s joyful voice combined with Michael’s infectious reggae groove delivers the message ‘on fleek.’ Martha’s version of Donny Hathaway’s This Christmas takes the song to the next level. The”Shake a hand. Shake a hand” chorus at the end makes you beg for more. The new ballad, Why Don’t You Come Home for Christmas, evolved from an idea for a melody Martha that left on a voicemail message to Michael. The song became a soulful plea from a woman wanting to be with her lover during the holidays.

No album by Martha would be complete without a nod to her boss, mentor, and friend — the Godfather of Soul, Mr. James Brown. The History of Ailee

Ailee is a South Korean-American singer and songwriter born on May 30, 1989. She had already displayed and promoted her artistic skills before making her victorious launch on February 9, 2012. The artist started a band in 2006 while still a high school student and participated in underground music festivals. She performed at college events and shared her original songs for free online. Before moving to Korea, she appeared as “Ailee” in YouTube videos from 2007. On the “mzamyx3” Youtube page, which she probably started, one may hear Ailee’s musical performances around fifteen years ago. Porky Paul started his music life as the Drummer of a gigging Indie band (The Roundabouts) in the early 90s who were based in & worked out of the beautiful Roman city of Bath. 

With the full support of their manager at the time Trevor Curwen who was also a sound engineer/producer (Portishead, DNA, Spiritualized & lots of other Artists) and with the help & support of the likes of session Drummer (Manny Elias – Tears For Fears, Julian Lennon) the band built up quite a following in & around Bath, Bristol and the surrounding areas with the famous Moles Club becoming almost like a second home to the Band

Contemporary folk rock musician Amanda Barrick announces the launch of their debut album, Wastelands, set for release on July 31st. Written over two decades and in locations across the United States, Wastelands is an amalgamation of Barrick’s emergence as an artist coming into their own.

Having grown up in the LDS faith as a queer person, Amanda Barrick weaves themes of religious oppression, redefining spirituality, romantic love–and ultimately self-acceptance–throughout Wastelands. Barrick deftly showcases their talent as a spoken word artist in two tracks, “Cool Dad” and “Biochemistry,” and covers Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing in the Dark” with hypnotic ease. However, at the core of the album resides Americana folk rock that is reminiscent of artists such as Brandi Carlile, Ani DiFranco, Indigo Girls, and Joan Baez–all the while remaining unmistakably Amanda Barrick.

“While seeing my contemporaries’ careers grow, it felt like my career as a rapper was dead. I needed a reboot,” he said. “‘Alive’ is first, a message to me. I’m letting myself know that I am standing on the shoulders of giants and have what it takes. I can overcome adversity.”

But after ten years, can Giles get back in the game as a contender?

While the world is coming out of a long pandemic, Giles’s return could not be timelier – and he delivers. “We’ve all suffered,” he said. “This pandemic is the first time in modernity that the human race can unite under the shared title of survivor.”

Back Rank Records will drop the single on March 11th, along with a lyric video on streaming platforms. Giles is the CEO and founder of Back Rank Records.

Born and brought up in India, Shabam moved to Los Angeles three years ago to pursue his dreams of becoming a singer-songwriter. I remember my Dad would always talk about things like never compromising when it comes to your self-respect, dignity etc. He always told me that he wanted only one thing from me and that was being a good human being, he always believed that if you could do that, you have won half the race and he wasn’t wrong. After I moved to Mumbai to complete my graduation, there were certain people who didn’t like the way I was progressing towards my goals. You’ll always meet such people in your life, in that moment you think why is the whole world against you? Why isn’t anything going your way? Is this how it feels like to follow your dreams? This is the test all of us have to pass.

This is where I had to apply everything I was taught by my parents. I was always big on self-belief, even on the bad days I never stopped believing in myself. I consider myself lucky that I was able to go through these experiences because they made me stronger as a human being and gave me a completely different perspective towards life. I guess that’s the reason I was able to reach where I am today.

It’s 2021, Saga Entertainment and The Celebs have reunited, this year fronted by Shona Mcgarty best known for playing Whitney Dean on Eastenders. Shona sings a heart warming rendition of the Beatles classic Let It Be. Released December 3rd 2021; accompanied by an uplifting music video.

Randy MC; full name Randy Martono-Chai is a Taiwanese-American vocalist, songwriter, producer, and pianist born December 25 1994 in Taipei, Taiwan where he lived till the age of 4. His family moved to the United States of America and Randy was raised in Southern California, Randy has Filipino, Chinese, Indonesian, and Spanish roots and is a well-rounded Musical Theater performer as well as an accomplished classical and alt-pop singer who has firmly established himself as a professional solo act. His current movement is centered around promoting love and acceptance towards the Asian community in America.

Early Life

Born to Seventh-day Adventist Missionaries who were also Biology majors in College. His father studied medicine before being deployed as a missionary and his mother later got a master’s degree in Public Health. Randy showed great musical interest from a young age. He took after his mother’s musical side and began piano lessons and flute in the 3rd grade. He later took up voice lessons bartering them for piano accompaniment services.  He often played accompaniment for choirs and groups and used this as an income stream and found his first job working for a Lutheran Church in Moreno Valley, CA. He went on to work for various denominations such as the Methodist, Episcopal, and Catholic Church. He is currently working for a Center for Spiritual Living in Temecula, Temecula Valley, SoCal. 

Growing up his father wanted him to follow in the field of science and become a doctor, however, Randy’s tenacity and passion kept him growing in music and he later joined Varsity Men’s choir in High School as well as a tops Chamber Choir known as Chamber Singers and played flute in Wind Ensemble. He also played piano in and toured with a Jazz Band and today is an accomplished instrumentalist who plays the flute, piccolo, piano, and organ. 

Career

Randy spent 7 years in VA and is currently based in the South.  He graduated from Shenandoah University with a Bachelor of Music and a double major in Performance and Jazz studies. He was one of the 5 students in the history of the conservatory to complete the double major in 2 music programs in 4 years.

Before he moved to the South from SoCal, Randy developed a very acute affinity to Western art, jazz, and musical theatre. He also played with the Redlands High School Jazz Ensemble, a competitive band that toured Seattle in 2012. He also competed in the Inland Empire Piano Festival and would win the competition consistently. He had already diversified his musical talents at a young age having directed his first musical at the age of 16, a community production of Robinhood: The Musical at Yucaipa Little Theatre in Yucaipa. In college, he also learned how to teach and developed his prowess in musical theatre. He is also adept at scoring and arranging music in different styles and has taken conducting lessons. 

Randy continued his work as a piano accompanist as well as a vocal competitor. He has also done a lot of work in production particularly for the band Souled Out. 

Evolution and Genres

Although being initially exposed to Classical, Christian, and Gospel music. Randy transitioned to jazz, classical, musical theatre, and pop. Over the years he has played and performed Hymnal music, Choral, Jazz, and Classical music. As a solo act, he mainly performs Alternative Pop music with elements of  R&B, Rock, and Jazz.

Randy MC has 5 singles titled “High”, “Baby Girl”, “Idgit”, “Partynauseous”, and “Several Times a Day” in his emerging alt-pop catalog. His songs are well thought out and carry nuances of Jazz and various syncopated elements. He has 6 singles that make up the EP dubbed “#StartAsianLove”. His main characteristics are smooth vocals and a refreshing writing style that is innovative and shows a sense of fearless creativity. He will be releasing his debut EP dubbed “#StartAsianLove” which is an Alt-pop project filled with substance and a heartwarming message that will change perceptions about Asian Culture in America as well as inspire and drive us to introspective conversations.

Personal Life

In August 2020 after recording 2 songs of his EP Randy decided to travel the country, particularly in the south starting with Northern Virginia to Baltimore to Chesapeake Bay to Cincinnati to West Virginia to Nashville where he stopped to record more parts of the songs. He then proceeded to Pigeon Forge then Dollywood and Atlanta. Randy then went to Savannah then Disneyworld in Orlando Florida and eventually New Orleans where he stayed for 2 months. This is where he wrote and worked on more music, collaborating with local musicians finding inspiration in the vibrant city of New Orleans taking various motifs and themes from New Orleans. The EP cover reflects Randy’s response to the #StopAsianHate movement. He wants to normalize Asian and Asian-American culture in the US.

Current work

Randy has been performing, producing, teaching, and coaching all over CA, WV, and the DMV (DC, MD, & VA) since the age of 14. He currently offers online & in-home music lessons and coaching for artists at all levels as well as arranging and orchestrating music scores.

Theatre

He has taken up various roles over the years. He served as a rehearsal pianist for 10 musicals and doubled as music director and assistant music director for 6 musicals. Most notably, he was the Music Director in several iconic musicals performed at the Apollo Civic Theatre such as Mamma Mia and The Wedding Singer.

As a classical singer, he made his Kennedy Center concert debut in 2019.

Madi Simmons entered the performing scene at the age of 16. He started out playing the drums, songwriting, and singing.
