As someone who was born in the ’90s Jaystarmusician had a natural inclination towards music, and that is what encouraged him to become part of the music industry. At the young age of 7, Jaystar started learning the piano and that is when it became clear that he had a natural ability. Soon, he began to create his own melodies and recorded his own vocals.

At the age of 15, Jaystar took part in a school competition where he discovered his singing and songwriting talent. Carolee Rainey’s song ‘ANCHOR’ deeply speaks to anyone who’s ever felt abandoned. Written after experiencing such an occurrence, Carolee explains: “I’ve been dragged through this very darkness and when ‘ANCHOR’ came to me in a dream I realized that although the trauma of unexpectedly losing that ‘ANCHOR’ in my life was on one hand unbearable, on the other hand I realized I had to also take responsibility to ‘ANCHOR’ myself back to who I am no matter what.”

Willow Woodward is a 17-year-old singer-songwriter from Bedford, New York. She grew up in a musical family and has been singing and playing instruments since she was young. After discovering songwriting about 5 years ago, Willow has worked tirelessly to improve her craft and grow as both a singer and songwriter.

First starting out by memorizing the lyrics of his favourite songs and then soon spitting his feelings over beats. He’s gone from strength to strength and now having harnessed his hard signature sound, is well on his way to make a major mark on the global music game.

DRE! is a West Philadelphia hip hop artist who has been creating music since 2015.
He has just released a mash-up of unreleased music for fans of the Dr. Bidges and Big Bidges EP.

Says DRE! “The project is unreleased music that I created during the production of the Dr. Bidges EP, and Big Bidges EP. Some of the music was recorded in Los Angeles such as Watch Me Flex, and Hollywood, the rest of the songs were recorded in Philadelphia.”

The producers on the project are Birocratic and Who On The Track, and the rapper’s brother, Eddie Royal mixed and mastered the project with fellow West Philadelphia rapper and childhood friend, Trap Swarley.

VDXi has released the latest single called ‘Vulnerable Rebellion’.

The song starts off with a beautiful female voice and synthesiser that sounds like they could take you on an amazing journey.
The guitars kick in at around 45 seconds and as soon as they do, this song starts to rock. What follows is basically a 4-minute guitar solo with plenty of pinched harmonics and just the right amount of ‘shredding’. Towards the end the lovely vocals start again, this time accompanied by the rhythm guitar and the drums. The guitars and drums are definitely giving it a nice rock twist.

VDXi is a completely self-taught musician, using computer programming tricks and virtual instruments to communicate his stories through music.
The artist has a wide range of musical styles and instrument emulations built into the music and this might not become obvious after you listen to just one song/composition, but it will become more apparent when you listen to more of them.

Kristina Murrell is a recording artist from Barbados. She moved to the US to pursue her education, and she never stopped focusing on her dream of making music with a very personal sound. American record producer Sonny King eventually discovered her, and he was immediately impressed with her incredible personality and musical skills. She eventually signed a deal with Sonny’s production company, Music By King Inc., and spent some time in the studio in order to work on new exciting music. This eventually led to a record deal with Music For love International to record her new album due to release Valentines Day.

Her sound is a combination of different genres and sonic aesthetics, most notably pop and R&B. Her most recent studio release, Got Me Dreaming is a perfect example of this excellent creative balance, showcasing the artist’s personality, and her ability to make music that sets the bar higher in terms of personality and innovation.

Zakk Cash returns with a new single entitled ‘Haze, which features Johnnie Guilbert.

“‘Haze’ is about a low point where I was extremely sad. During the Pandemic, my living situation had turned toxic and I felt I had fallen into a deep hole I couldn’t get out of. Every day just felt like a constant struggle to do anything. I was sleeping 14 hours a day, having multiple panic attacks, and was feeling hopeless. I started writing Haze about feeling broken and in a constant state of fear. I wanted to write from the perspective as if I was looking in a mirror and talking to myself.” says Cash

On why he decided to bring Johnnie Guilbert to work with him on the song, Cash adds:
“Johnnie Guilbert was the perfect person to join this song. His voice is amazing! I knew he would be able to relate and craft his own lyrics around the feelings I was having.”

Phil Mitchell is a composer, author and musician hailing from Chicago and started writing songs at a very young age. He writes music in an eclectic range of genres including jazz, classical, RnB, rock, blues and country.

He formed the Phil Mitchell Band in 2004 and they have performed at a variety of venues whilst recording music in the studio.

The ninth track The World Is A Beautiful Place is a change of pace; a toe tapping funk pop track with Nile Rodgers-type slick guitar and some superb drumming. The second section has some adventurous chord changes that show the deep harmonic knowledge behind the songwriting, yet it still works simply as just a very catchy pop track.

This is a hugely eclectic and wide range of songs unified by the artistic vision of Phil Mitchell. The album runs the gamut of human emotions, all expressed through a constantly evolving mixture of genres and styles. The mixture of male and female vocals also adds to the variety.

It’s often hard to find a good, strong Gospel artist these days who is as abundantly talented and dedicated to her music as Phaze3.

So I made Concentrate Extended Mix which focused on the beat more than lyrics.”

“Hannah Banana”, the latest single from Los Angeles based indie pop group The Sometimes Island, is a masterclass in the art of leaving the audience wanting more, the song contains a subtle elegance that can only truly be appreciated after many listens. And that shouldn’t be a problem because you are definitely going to put this one on repeat.

The Sometimes Island have long hung their hat on the synth pop style that lies at the heart of “Hannah Banana”. What distinguishes this song is its refusal to truly peak. The song rises and falls along peaks and troughs but never breaks out into a full on sprint. It is a track defined by its minimalist approach.

The bouncy synth lead line is the workhorse of the track, laying the groundwork for the remaining instrumentation. The kick drum maintains a simple four on the floor, grounding the song. Occasionally the drums open up, but even at their largest moment they don’t dominate sonically or spatially. The song is lyrically simplistic, the story of a confused lover not knowing what he wants until it is gone.

What stands out the most about this track are the vocal harmonies. The simple instrumentation of the arrangement leaves heaps of space for beautiful harmony lines. The vocals are the only part of the song that don’t willingly hold back. The vocal layering of band leader and singer Matt Blankenship Jr. is reminiscent of Brian Wilson’s arrangements in his Beach Boys heyday, a comparison not to be made or taken lightly.

The line between minimalist and lacking can be fine, but “Hannah Banana” finds itself squarely on the minimalist side. The single, which was released at the tail end of 2020, has left us all wanting more. The band promises to deliver with the release of their Pilot EP on March 17th. Looks like we’ll all be getting lucky on St. Patrick’s Day this year.

Louisville Rapper, B SIMM, releases a video to accompany the song, “Beyoncé’s Letter” which continues the call for Justice for Breonna Taylor.

After the murder of Breonna Taylor in March of 2020, Louisville-based rapper, B SIMM, wrote and released a song called Beyoncé’s Letter, reflecting on this tragic event and the ongoing fight for justice.

The title and lyrics of the song were inspired by the letter Beyoncé Knowles-Carter wrote to the Attorney General of Kentucky, calling for criminal charges against the officers, transparency in the officer’s criminal conduct, as well as an investigation of LMPD’s response to the murder and the root cause of violence against black lives.

Creative group, Dreamachine Collective, wrote and produced this video, working alongside local Louisville artists to create a visually stunning, emotionally impactful work of storytelling.

After dropping Beyoncé’s Letter in October 2020, B SIMM follows up with a striking music video utilizing theatrical storytelling to symbolize the constant struggle Black Americans experience dealing with systemic racism. The video takes viewers through a journey of B SIMM’s personal experience as a black man and father living in Louisville, and his frustration with the pervasive racism within the United States justice system. The rap breaks linger on a memorial for Breonna Taylor, creating a sacred space to honor her life, and mourn her tragic death. The video closes with a hopeful, explosively colorful scene illustrating how beautiful life could be with true equality, when Black Lives Matter.

The music video was released on all digital platforms at 12:41 AM on 1/1/2021, the exact time in which LMPD shot into Breonna’s apartment. This time and date has been chosen as a call to remember Breonna’s death and the injustices we must continue to fight in the new year.

All food left over from set was donated to protestors at the Breonna’s Memorial Square in Louisville, KY.
During the filming of this video, every member of the production crew took safety precautions to film this video using CDC and socially distant guidelines.
The music video was shot in Goshen, KY at a farm warehouse building that runs strictly on solar power, keeping sustainability in mind when producing the video with naturally-sourced power, biodegradable glitter, recycling protocols, etc.

Conor Taggart & Victoria McClements originally began singing together at weddings as singing waiters, normally falling over with a tray of cutlery and bursting into song! What they didn’t know though, was that they would soon fall for each other. In late 2019, Conor and Victoria’s friendship grew into a loving relationship.

When Covid19 hit, Conor & Victoria isolated together in Victoria’s grandparents’ house and with the country in complete lockdown and a lot of time to kill, they began singing together. Taking original anthems and transforming them into duets, coming up with their own arrangements and harmonies and trying to make themselves different from the standard duo out there; it started to become something very special.

Initially, this was all in aid of the wonderful health service and key-workers who had been fighting the horrific battle of C19. Every Thursday night, Conor & Victoria would stand in the street and serenade the neighbours to show their appreciation for the amazing frontline workers saving lives. Within a few weeks of lockdown, their Thursday night show had become very popular and a few of their videos reached over 150,000 views. Not only were they delighted with the positive response but loved bringing a little bit of cheer to those at a very difficult time.

Fast forward 6 months and they have now released their own album ‘Out of the Darkness’, a music video, and are writing original material.

They are also currently taking wedding bookings and planning their theatre show. It’s safe to say the future is bright for Bello Duo and they can’t wait to share the journey with you all.

Michael Q. Trucks, also known as “Q” and “Q the Music” grew up listening to Otis Redding, Frankie Lymon, The Temptations, and Prince. Some of his earliest memories involved him performing, joining dance competitions, and moving around a lot.
Around the age of 14 years, he began writing music and in High School, he became the drummer in a band called ‘Now or Never’.
Music has always been a constant in his life.

Q’s write’s about “my light and dark experiences growing up and
through traveling around the world. I consider my form of music to be
genre-blending, using old and new forms of sound, from rock and roll to
hip hop.”

When he is not writing music, he enjoys creating concept EP & album covers during his free time. He also helps other artists with their music, through SoundBetter, by writing and providing feedback on their music;
mix and mastering; and taking their life stories and turning it into an audio novel.

In 2018, Q released two singles: ‘Stay & Lost’ and released his first EP called ‘Light and Dark’ in 2019. The EP contains 4 songs; Mine; Shine featuring Tarintino; Space; and a remix to Stay featuring Yung$pitta.

In 2020, Q released 3 singles – Empty; Enough featuring ThaWavee; and L&P.
He also had the opportunity to release a music video for Enough.

He is currently working on his next EP called ‘Prisoner’.

By Small Ruin is an anagram for Bryan Mullis, keeping his music and lifestyle as true to self as possible. Busking since high school, he has made his way across the country playing to anyone who listened. His talent and dedication lead to sharing the stage with artists like DAWES, WILD and Briston Maroney.

As a teen, Bryan was notorious for doing what he wanted, when he wanted, including sneaking out of his parent’s house and hitch-hiking a 10-hour ride to Florida to surprise his girlfriend on the beach. 

More recently, Bryan’s brother almost lost his life in a car accident. Dealing with those feelings inspired his musical journey that brought him unforetold adventures. He often tells the story of being attacked in a convenience store which “lead to a full-fledged movie-like fight that included knocking over shelves and throwing beer bottles. The store was destroyed.” 

From waking up to SWAT teams thinking the band’s van was owned by a nearby active shooter, to unexpectedly playing a nudist pool party of 100+ people, BSR’s thrilling lifestyle is certainly rendered in their music and performance.

By Small Ruin has just released Rolling Thunder, which was inspired by Mullis’ spontaneous travels and adventurous experiences.

“This song is about a deep infatuation relationship I had where it was all encompassing – especially at the beginning. After a short time, I was convinced that I could not live without this girl. It’s scary when you get to that point – to realize how much power your partner has to make or break your world with their actions.”

Ls Ren is a 17 year old Indie artist from Niagara Falls, New York.

The Moon Child’s Journey is the first solo album for Ls Ren following his
previous joint project, “𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝙸𝚕𝚕𝚞𝚜𝚒𝚘𝚗”, with Ls Thrillz.

He wrote all of the lyrics to the songs, produced some of the instrumentals and co-produced the other instrumentals with Ls Thrillz.

Heart Eyed has just releases a new song called ‘Woke Up In’, produced by Falsecut under the alias Vinnythewizard. This single is part of an upcoming EP title ‘Savers’.
Heart Eyed’s vocal delivery is a mix between Baby Smoove, Rio Da Yung OG, with hints of Curren$y and Drake flows mixed in, all while drugged out on whatever he’s taken that day. The result is a very dry, to the point attitude
that almost forces you to agree with or think twice about whatever he is
rapping about.

The beats are ridiculously hard-hitting, with an unforgivably heavy, yet
bouncy 808 bass line, crisp and in your face drums, and a melancholy/spacious/orchestral melody to bring it all together. This
somewhat confusing mixture is what makes Heart Eyed’s new singles from
his upcoming EP, “Savers” sound rigid, one-of-a-kind, truthful, and
painful when talking about the harsh realities of his own world and the

Rock and Roll and turbulent relationships have gone hand in hand since
the beginning of time. The origins of Blind Season are no different.

Beginning with a rag tag group only forming through the means of owning
instruments, and an evening involving the smashing of a mutual friend’s
car, Blind Season had undergone 5 different incarnations until Shane
Sigro the founding guitarist was faced with the ultimate decision;
between succumbing to normalcy or proving the previous members wrong.
Choosing the latter, Sigro doubled down by taking vocal lessons and
penning the new music that would breathe life into the new era of Blind
Season.

Blind Season’s upcoming album is an ode to loneliness and toxicity that
feel as if they were ripped from Billy Corgan’s Diary and featured in a
film by Tim Burton.

With the current questionable climate of the world
there’s no question that this album will find its proper home and become
a sign of the times.

“This song was the last song written in the drunken, sad trilogy, and
funny enough this song takes longer to play than it did to write. Music
and lyrics came almost instantly and it was me accepting that I didn’t
need that toxic situation and I was forcing myself to be happy, I was out
of it. It’s a triumphant ending for this mini story within the album,
and I thank the universe for this song.” says Sigro
