Oh Brooklyn (A Trini Grows In Brooklyn) is the new single from ‘Simply Missy’. Capitalizing on her family’s Trinidadian roots and the love of soca and reggae music, Simply Missy, born in Brooklyn, New York as Melissa Sharon Glasgow, compiled several singles and new material to release her debut EP, Caribbean Foreigner, in 2023, solidifying her spot in music.

The single “I Still Luv Sweet T&T”, produced by Ackahdan, teases the senses with a blend of traditional calypso and soca. The blending of the producer’s Antigua-born rhythms and Simply Missy’s eclectic blend of NYC and Caribbean culture of sounds and melodies set a mood with her ASMR-adjacent voice.

Listening to the single “Fete Too Much”, with featured producer Trini Baby (Vernice Mariah Herreira) from Trinidad & Tobago, alongside her blends soca and dancehall vibes for a pulsating dance track. Jasir was afforded the opportunity to attend NYU’s Tisch Summer High School Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music in 2018. Despite his being on the Autism Spectrum, he excelled in his courses while enjoying and exploring NYC’s music scene, and music companies like Tidal with his peer group. He soon moved on to attend and graduate Cum Laude with an A.A.S. Degree from Queensborough Community College (QCC) in 2021. Jasir Abdullah-Musa is a Certified AVID Pro Tools User and plans to continue his education expanding to Certified AVID Dolby Atmos Professional. He plans to create his own lane or partner with a studio, open to inclusivity and mentoring in order to expand his talents, to solidify his career as a music producer/engineer.

With the help of Jasir, Simply Missy plans to continue to extend her music catalog of R&B and soul, with a few reggae, afrobeats/afropop, soca and country songs. More Simply Missy music is set to be on their way to your streaming device and listening ears soon.

DGunnaBeatz founded Plug Studios NYC in 2015 from the basement of his parent’s home, and together with artist A Boogise Wit Da Hoodie, created a hit single record called “Still Think About You” which is now a 2x Platinum selling hit.

Ls Ren is a 17 year old Indie artist from Niagara Falls, New York.

The Moon Child’s Journey is the first solo album for Ls Ren following his
previous joint project, “𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝙸𝚕𝚕𝚞𝚜𝚒𝚘𝚗”, with Ls Thrillz.

He wrote all of the lyrics to the songs, produced some of the instrumentals and co-produced the other instrumentals with Ls Thrillz.

Originally from Syracuse, NY Tony Keyz got his start in music at a very young age.

Coming from a long line of musicians in the family, Tony Keyz takes his talents to the next level while performing live instrumentation as well as rapping.

At the early age of 5 years old Tony Keyz began his journey. Alike many soulful musicians he got his start in the Church. At age 9 years old he began playing the drums at his church.

He soon ventured over to the piano at age 13 and keyboard at 14. Being a fast learner Keyz taught himself how to play each instrument.  He now plays the pedal steel guitar like no other! He now gears up to drop his debut EP.

Keyboard Player and Producer Etienne Stadwijk Releases a Powerful Response to the Current Social Climate with new song and video “Then Why?!”

Keyboard Player and producer Etienne Stadwijk has released a powerful and moving song “Then Why?!” as a commentary to the current social climate in the US and around the world.

“Then Why?!” is a statement piece that is accompanied by a hard hitting and emotionally raw video that depicts some of history’s worst acts against humanity, in an attempt to illustrate how we have arrived at this point. The message behind the song also offers a suggestion for a better way forward.

“Injustice of any kind is something that affects me deeply on many levels. This song not only attempts to verbalize the pain and suffering that so many have had to endure for so long because of this injustice, but it also suggests tolerance as a way past it. Let us all try to be more tolerant of one another. Without tolerance there will NEVER be equality!” says Stadwijk.

Stadwijk is a New York based graduate of the Berklee College of Music, who divides his time between recording, producing, and performing live in NYC and around the world.

Guantanamo Bae took inspiration for this single from time spent working as a prison guard in Guantanamo Bay. Experiencing a spectrum of emotions while dealing with the secluded conditions, GB wrote ‘Happy Sadness’. This creative piece, in today’s climate of isolation due to the global pandemic, provides an uplifting dance track that allows the listener to zone out and enjoy the positive energy emitted from this single.

James Jager’s remix of the single adds to the original intention of GB by creating an epic dance track that is expertly produced, allowing the listener to disappear into the euphoric flow of the melody effortlessly. Various instrumental drops throughout the track, like the one found around the three minute mark, add just the right amount of space for anticipation to build, resulting in a gratifying sound that will absolutely please fans of dance music.

About The Artists 

James Jager is a DJ and Producer who is currently based in the New York and Philadelphia metropolitan areas.

Finishing his engineering degree at Drexel University, James went on to pursue a career in the music industry.

     

Performing at venues that include NOTO Philadelphia, Rec & Royal and Warehouse on Watts, James has played alongside acts such as Bassjackers, DJ Hollywood and Morgan Page.

Continually seeking to progress his diverse creativity, James features both original, as well as “hand selected tracks” in his performances, with no genre being considered “off limits”.

Guantanamo Bae’s (GB) prodigious power to compose innovative and superior EDM tracks began as a pastime in college that fused into publishing on streaming platforms.  Garnering responses from exuberant supporters, GB turned his attention to live performances, a serious-minded craft that is as important to producing the music alone.

Amid the global explosion of Electronic Dance Music, a genre that thrives almost exclusively in nightclubs and festivals of cosmopolitan cities, GB emerged from the small farm town of DeSoto, Missouri.  After serving in the U.S. Navy, he relocated to New York City to attend college and the music passion began. 

Experimenting with GarageBand and advancing to Ableton GB., GB was able to share tracks with close friends at house parties and small club gatherings in New York City.

Guantanamo Bae understands everyone’s need for a diversion from these challenging.  He accomplishes this by incorporating melodic mixes and uplifting elements that is a celebration on the dance floor.
