September 2024 – The Austrian pop band Gentle Glow, consisting of 5 members, including the two songwriters Jasmin Neuninger and Roman Schrank, will present their new single “Do iT” on September 20, 2024. The track is a spontaneous reflection on the band’s journey and an exploration of their artistic resilience.

The band teamed up to record their new track “Do iT” at Boogie Park Studios, one of the most successfu music studios in Germany. The creation of this song is something very special because it actually came about completely by chance and almost spontaneously.

“Do iT” offers an insight into the personal and professional challenges that Jasmin Neuninger and Roman Schrank faced in the past year. The song’s creation is associated with a pivotal moment in the band’s career. While Jasmin thought about a possible job change, Neuninger and Schrank struggled with whether they should continue to invest in their music production, music marketing and instruments or focus on something else instead. This period of uncertainty led to a critical decision point for both, compounded by the challenges presented by today’s highly competitive music industry.

“Do iT” emerged from a spontaneous session in the rehearsal room at that time. In a spark of creative momentum, the two decided not to rehearse their usual live set and routine for once. Instead, they improvised new music just to make something that was more fun and more liberating for both of them. This impromptu session led to the creation of the song and captured a moment of unplanned inspiration that really paid off. The text was written after the session. That same evening, it embodied a sense of urgency and a desire to act instinctively rather than routinely and to keep that creative flame alive.

Ayana John is a Reggae/Dancehall Singer/Songwriter from Barbados, West Indies. Holding a BSc. in Pure Mathematics from The University of The West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, an MBA from UNICAF University, a Diploma in Popular Music Practice from The University of West London, alongside a certificate in Copyright Law from Harvard Law School, Ayana explains that it was her mother’s wish for her children to all graduate from university. She states that she made a promise to her mother that while pursuing a career in music, she would at least complete her bachelor’s. Ayana notes that her academic experiences have gifted her with the knowledge of time management and its importance to her personal and professional life.

Ayana seeks to create musical connections beyond The Caribbean because she acknowledges that there is potential for major growth of her brand in territories such as the United Kingdom, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the United States. Since Rihanna, the presence of Barbadian musical acts on the international music charts has been lackluster. The goal is to make a significant crossover to the musical mainstream with a strong sense of Caribbean identity. Ayana sees her music on the Billboard Hot 100 and collecting a Grammy someday for Best Reggae/Dancehall Performance, Record of the Year, and Album of the Year. The sky is the limit!
