Canadian indie rock band Lost Pitch, hailing from Toronto, is thrilled to unveil their debut EP, Friends & Foes. This collection proudly presents four original tracks that capture their distinct sound and diverse influences. The band consists of Erick Vidal, Leandro Motta, Ricardo Santos, and Alex Mine, who together craft a blend of musical eras and styles, offering listeners a fresh sonic experience. Having been expertly mastered at the iconic Abbey Road Studios in London by Frank Arkwright (known for working with Blur, Oasis, Elton John), this EP is designed to captivate both fans and newcomers, leaving them eager for more from Lost Pitch.

03 – Below Average

´紫紅色玫瑰”（Purple Red Rose) is a romantic song dedicated to every soul longing for love and being loved, composed by 旋林Rowens. The lyrics portray various aspects of love through red and purple roses: Only by bravely expressing one’s passion can the fiery red rose’s brilliance be ignited; only by keeping the promises made can elegant purple roses symbolize their commitment. May all lovers in the world plant beautiful and resilient purple red roses in each other’s hearts.

This song was arranged separately by 旋林Rowens(GT & bass) and Jeff(drums & organ), in their respective rooms. Jeff’s serene yet passionate drum beats provide a solid foundation for the song, while Rowens plays guitar and bass upon the rhythm. The addition of Jeff’s organ adds a layer of mysterious atmosphere to the song.

The song’s structure follows an “Intro-A-B-Interlude-A-B-C-Outro” pattern. Apart from employing rhyme schemes in the lyrics, the guitar outro echoes the intro and interlude, reflecting Rowens’ penchant for symmetry. The uncommon use of hi-hat beats in the C section creates a dynamic feeling reminiscent of a duet ballet in the perfumed rain, inspiring everyone to sway freely to the music and rhythm.

旋林Rowens is a singer-songwriter from Taipei, Taiwan. He likes to chant his own stories while riding against the wind, using notes and words to record the traces of his life.

Rowens is the plural form of ‘rowen’, a second growth of grass or hay in one season, which signifies the renaissance after death. 旋林Rowens expect himself to keep an uninterrupted enthusiasm for life.

In the years leading up to 2021, former members of The Mailman’s Children joined forces with other Canadian artists to record 23 original songs. Although Hello Fiasco™ is principally Canadian, the band is actually considered Canadian-American or “North American” because their frontman Eric LaBossiere (born Canadian) lives in Helena, Montana (USA). The rest of the band, including Joel Couture (bass), Joel Perreault (lead guitars/backing vocals), Ivan Burke (drums/backing vocals), and Guy Abraham (keys/Ableton/backing vocals), all live in the Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada region.

At the top of 2021, the newly formed 5-piece band surfaced as Hello Fiasco. The band’s debut album “Find The Shoreline” has earned 4,500,000 streams including 1,700,000 unique listeners on Spotify, being placed on over 12,000 Spotify playlists, and achieving several top 30s at US College radio.

​The band’s debut album “Find The Shoreline” was co-produced by frontman Eric LaBossiere and award-winning Canadian producer John Paul Peters (Propagandhi, Arkells, Comeback Kid, Faouzia, Royal Canoe, Cancer Bats, The Bros. At The Disco, Fall Out Boy, The Killers, Franz Ferdinand and David Bowie, though listeners have also said that HF definitely has a sound and strength of their own. This only makes sense since the band prides itself on coming from the side of Pop Rock where the quality of lyrics, music and originality all still stand for something.

Over the last months, the band has also done over 15 radio, podcast or published interviews and had over 80 articles published about them. They did all of this under their own indie label: The Mailman’s Children Inc, which was aptly named after the band that 3 of 5 Hello Fiasco members used to be a part of. HF has also built out their social media brand to 25,000 Tiktok Followers, 11,000 Facebook followers and 4,500 Instagram followers in their first 2 years. Things are moving for Hello Fiasco. 

HF’s first performances include a sold-out headlining show at Canada’s renowned Festival du Voyageur, as well as an opening slot for The Watchmen, I Mother Earth and Bif Naked at Winnipeg’s Burt Block Party. The band is currently in the process of scheduling its first North American tour dates for 2023 and 2024, with a few shows already scheduled for Canada.
