Emerging South African Talent Charlie Harris Drops Compelling New Track “Charlie No Face” on The Playlist

We are very pleased to announce that ‘Charlie No Face’ from ‘Charlie Harris’ is now on our A-List Playlist. Listen out for it day and night on the playlist.

Singer-songwriter Charlie Harris releases the first single, “Charlie No Face,” from the long-awaited debut album Digital Dust (Side A).

Charlie Harris, the main singer songwriter of Keep Guessing, hails from the vibrant city of Johannesburg, South Africa. His music is a unique blend of folk-rock, seasoned with a dash of introspection and a whole lot of heart. But Charlie’s journey into music wasn’t a straight path—it was a winding road filled with self-discovery, hundreds of songs, and the relentless pursuit of authenticity.

The first single, “Charlie No Face,” is inspired by the tragic story of Raymond Robinson, a man who became an urban legend after a childhood accident left him disfigured. Charlie was moved by the tale of Robinson, who only ventured out at night, hiding his face in the shadows. The song is a haunting reflection on how society can turn someone’s pain into entertainment, a theme that resonates deeply with Charlie’s introspective songwriting style.

Charlie Harris’ vocals on this track are tinged with a melancholy tone reminiscent of early R.E.M, making it a nostalgic and heartfelt track.

The release marks a significant milestone in Charlie’s musical journey—a journey that has led to the creation of Digital Dust (Side A), an album that captures the essence of songs that might have otherwise been lost in time.

Digital Dust ( Side A) will be available on all platforms on September 14th.

“You Give Me Hope,” now on rotation at Happy Radio in Basel, Switzerland, explores the theme of unconditional love in the face of hardship, reflecting Ludmilla’s own gratitude for the unwavering support of her husband. “Why War” offers a poignant reflection on the effects of war, portraying the resilience of a mother who has lost everything but remains strong for her child. Through this powerful piece, Ludmilla advocates for a world where children can live in peace, away from the violence of both wars and domestic conflicts.

“Why War” is performed by American singer Chas Evans, a renowned guitar teacher, singer, and composer known for his work on the theme music for Hollywood’s “Great Expectations.” “You Give Me Hope” is performed by Hungarian artist Daniel Tihanyi, who also mixes and masters Ludmilla’s tracks. A-List Star: Gianluca Zanna’s Latest Single Takes Over Hollywood Playlist

We are excited to announce the addition of Gianluca Zanna’s stunning new single, ‘What Could Have Been,’ to our celebrated A-List Playlist! You can catch it day and night, and as a special POP ROCK POWERPLAY at 2 PM Pacific, it will receive daily spins for the next month.

Who is Gianluca Zanna, CEO of Zanna Records?

Gianluca Zanna’s musical journey began in Rome, Italy, where he spent his early childhood by the sea, enchanted by his grandfather’s serenades and the epic cinematic scores from his family’s movie theatre. However, his idyllic surroundings changed when he entered Italy’s prestigious National Boarding School “Convitto Nazionale” at just 10 years old. Later, he attended the elite Military Academy Nunziatella, the world’s oldest military school.

It was during his time at boarding school that Zanna discovered music’s transformative power. Rather than playing soccer like his peers, he immersed himself in songwriting, finding old instruments in the school’s attic and teaching himself to play guitar, bass, and drums. At the same time, Zanna developed a love for classical Italian poetry, drawing inspiration from greats like Ovid, Dante, and Petrarch. This passion for words and music led him to fill notebooks with poetry, which would later become lyrics for his songs.

As a young dreamer in Italy, Gianluca looked up to legendary producer and sound engineer Brian Reeves, who worked with icons such as Donna Summer, Giorgio Moroder, and U2. Today, Reeves collaborates with Zanna, mixing some of his most recent tracks, including ‘I Want to Know,’ ‘Storm,’ ‘I AM, and ‘The Other Side of My Heart (Remix).’

Be sure to listen out for ‘What Could Have Been’ and experience Gianluca Zanna’s musical evolution for yourself!

We’re excited to share that Ayana John’s vibrant and uplifting new single, the ‘Do Bad’ Remix, has been added to our esteemed Daily A-List Playlist! Tune in day and night to catch it and enjoy it as our special CARIBBEAN POP POWERPLAY at 8 PM Pacific time, featured daily for the next month.

Ayana John is a Reggae/Dancehall Singer/Songwriter from Barbados, West Indies. Known for her songs, Bajan Story, Guns ‘n Roses, Paper Chase, Do Bad, and viral hit, Pop Shite (200,000+ views on Twitter), she refers to her personal musical style as ‘a Caribbean feel with pop appeal’. She won the award for Best Reggae Singer in November 2020 by The Lady Flava Radio Network Awards in Connecticut, USA.

For the past decade, dynamic vocals, choreography, and energy have become a signature of her live shows. O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, Reggae on the Hill, Nottingham Carnival, MIDEM, NACA, and SxSW are just a few big stages upon which Ayana John has performed. Displaying a modelesque physique, Ayana has attracted Barbadian designers such as Nefertari, Pauline Bellamy, and Lucy Lui to model their designs on stages and red carpets. As a former Ms. Barbados Bikini and 1st runner-up Ms. Barbados Universe, a passion for fashion and stage preexisted before the music.

Holding a BSc. in Pure Mathematics from The University of The West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, an MBA from UNICAF University, a Diploma in Popular Music Practice from The University of West London, alongside a certificate in Copyright Law from Harvard Law School, Ayana explains that it was her mother’s wish for her children to all graduate from university. She states that she made a promise to her mother that while pursuing a career in music, she would at least complete her bachelor’s. Ayana notes that her academic experiences have gifted her with the knowledge of time management and its importance to her personal and professional life.

Ayana seeks to create musical connections beyond The Caribbean because she acknowledges that there is potential for major growth of her brand in territories such as the United Kingdom, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the United States. Since Rihanna, the presence of Barbadian musical acts on the international music charts has been lackluster. The goal is to make a significant crossover to the musical mainstream with a strong sense of Caribbean identity. Ayana sees her music on the Billboard Hot 100 and collecting a Grammy someday for Best Reggae/Dancehall Performance, Record of the Year, and Album of the Year. The sky is the limit!
