Philadelphia based artist Jammie Jolly is the architect behind the sounds of the indie label Jollytimeproductions. Jammie’s creative artistry began after serving his country in the U.S. Navy as a member of the group VOR (Voice of Reason). Initially signed to the independent label Fayzomac records, the group released one self entitled album 1997.

Rodney Miller – A Champion for the People’s Music

New Jersey resident Rodney Miller had something cooking on his mind besides learning the culinary trade. It was his love for music that burned deep in his heart. He enjoyed every aspect about the craft from singing at church to songwriting. Influenced by the sounds of Stevie Wonder, the genius of Quincy Jones and country greats like Alabama and Kenny Rogers, Miller began to experiment with writing songs.

Joseph C Guess grew up in a music family but didn’t realise his music talent until much later on in his life. Although he didn’t discover his music talent at first, writing poetry became an outlet for him as a teenager.

“I didn’t appreciate music earlier on probably because it reminded me of being the only son who wasn’t musically talented. I was more into sports back then. I think at the age of 14 years old was when I started listening and appreciating music.” says the artist

He started writing poetry in 2020 during the epidemic to release stress from this nightmare in this world. Then later that year him and his wife planned a vacation to Daytona Beach, Florida to celebrate their 9th wedding anniversary and 13 years together.
He came up with an idea to get an unexclusive lease on an instrumental beat from J Grooves and then he wrote a song called LaRisa.

“I wrote this song,” LaRisa” after my wife’s name to dedicate to her for our 9th wedding anniversary and it became so well liked that people including my wife told me that I have to show this song to the whole world. I hired a musician named Rex to sing it how I wanted, then the rest was history. I had the song made in a poem format on a canvas to read to her then played the song. She kept it together but was a little emotional during process. She heard the song and told me in a belligerent voice to share this with the world now!! So this is exactly what I intend on doing at this moment. I hope the people will like it.” says Joseph C

Koko Nova is the next buzz in the alternative pop scene. Her soulful storytelling is brought to life by her exquisite sound, vivid lyrics and carefully crafted sonic experiences. Her background in science lends a unique touch to her songwriting: abstract motifs and elaborate constructs. She wants to encourage her listeners to embrace their full spectrum of emotions and not be held back by expectations and judgement: let’s be the sentient humans we were born to be! The song is a multi-faceted soul/electro-pop gem with a touch of funk and exotic sounds. On the surface it may appear just like another love song, but don’t get fooled so easily! Originally inspired by her love of (or rather addiction to) tea and of course by an important ex-lover, the song has a much deeper message. It draws attention to addictions in our lives: coffee, cigarettes, love, social media, you name it. The more you listen to the song, the more you start travelling through various visions and feelings that it evokes. Koko collaborated on her debut single with a talented producer, Retro Island Studio, who was able to help her bring to life all her visions.

There are multiple instruments throughout the song, but one in particular was key to giving the song a touch of exotic flair: there’s an Indian sitar motif right in the beginning that repeats a couple of times throughout the song, and connects with the tea theme.

Koko grew up in Hungary, the country of Liszt and Bartok, where she was introduced to the world of music as a toddler thanks to her parents. As a child, she loved dancing and singing and began playing the violin. During high school she decided to pursue her interest in science and set off to London to study Computer Science. After graduating, she worked in the corporate world. She thought she found her dream job when she one day realised that she was caged, and far from her free-spirited self. After working and travelling all around the world, and with a failed startup under her belt, Koko finally decided to pursue her lifelong passion for music. She is currently based in London and Budapest, collaborating with those who share her artistic vision.

Described by NOW magazine as a “tantalizing Afro-soul combo of folk, roots, desert blues and African continental music,” AfroSoul Volume III: Re’ is the new EP from Amai Kuda et Les Bois. It is the follow-up to their full length release, AfroSoul Volume II: MaZai, hailed as “earthy and rootsy and good for your ears” by CBC’s Errol Nazareth. Amai Kuda’s debut album, Sand from the Sea, was considered “one of the year’s most exciting discoveries” in 2012 (Nicholas Jennings – Canada’s foremost music journalist and historian).

Amai Kuda et Les Bois have been featured in NOW magazine and on CBC’s Canada Live and Big City Small World, as well as performed at venues like the Jane Mallett Theatre, Harbourfront, The Rivoli, and festivals such as Luminato, Kultrun, and Small World Music Festival. They’ve give workshops on music, decolonization, and African cultural knowledge at schools, universities, and community centres internationally. Most recently the group won the Best Folk/Roots award and also placed 2nd for the Best Song across all categories at the Toronto Independent Music Awards. Whether on the street, the stage or in the studio, for Amai Kuda et Les Bois, music is about healing –the healing of the earth, our ancestors, and ourselves. 

Amai Kuda et Les Bois share a fluid and stunning new single, Ecouché. The piece is sonic magic -a spell for healing of the waters, it will arrive as the first single from Amai Kuda et Les Bois’ upcoming full-length album, EmUrgency!, to be released as a limited edition vinyl recording on May 20.

Channeled and sung entirely in a language of ancestral communication, Ecouché can never be performed the same way twice. The song was written and produced by Amai Kuda Yemoja Ile, with vocals, guitar by Amai Kuda Yemoja Ile, and second guitar from Jimmy Smalbach (Jimmy Kiddo).

“The album is about my journey as a woman of African descent to overcome internalized sexism, racism and the negative stigmatization of African spiritual beliefs in order to come into my power as an artist, community-leader, and particularly as a traditional healer,” Amai says. “Similar to other ‘coming out’ processes this emergence process is filled with a sense of urgency as it is in fact a matter of survival.”

Marietta Grant is one of the fresh faces in the music industry, at least from a singing perspective. But Marietta is far from a newcomer. In fact, she started writing songs in 2010, and her passion for music was there even well before that. Epic has released a new EP, ‘2 Love or ‘Not 2 Love’.

BE WITH ME is the first single from the E.P. ‘2 LOVE OR NOT 2 LOVE’. In this song Epic shares how one of his lovers wants something serious with him. She wants a serious relationship yet Epic still refuses to settle down, though it’s obvious that this is the girl for him.

The second single on this E.P. is SO FAR which is about Epic being away from one of his lovers and the distance begins taking a toll on him.

SHAWTY BAD, the third single, is about Epic finally finding the one for him or so it may seem.

The fourth song on this E.P. is titled 2 LOVE OR NOT 2 LOVE which is solely about Epic realizing one of his women has fallen in love. Epic also begins to question his own feelings for her causing this single to be very interesting.

The last song on 2 Love or Not 2 Love is DA GAME 101 which is the first time where Epic is getting played. This is one of the situations that may have been what led Epic down his path of playerism.

Epic Drip (Epic) is a native of Fayetteville, North Carolina, who is currently living in Germany. He developed a love for music at an early age and started his hip hop journey listening to the greats; Biggie, 2Pac, Jay-Z, Nas, Snoop Dogg, DMX. As he aged, he moved on to artists like 50 Cent, Eminem, Ludacris, TI, Lil Wayne and various others who aren’t named but definitely played equal roles in Epic’s life. Epic began high school in Texas where he was introduced to Chopped N Screwed music and that Texas vibe. That vibe played a major role in the sounds Epic Drip creates today. 

Upon graduation from high school in 2003, Epic attended Fayetteville State University, where, he once again embraced his passion for music using his stage name “Da’Future”. He further honed his musical skills as an intern for the campus radio station, WFSS 91.9 FM and local radio station, Foxy 99 (WZFX 99.1 FM). While at FOXY 99, he got his first opportunity to be onstage with big time artists during Summer Jam 06.

Epic realized he could no longer refer to himself as “Da’Future”, so changed his stage name to “Epic Moment”. “Epic Moment” was actually given to Epic by one of his close friends and co-workers who made beats and was a fan of Epic’s music. 

He performed for the first time in 2013 at Zero Degrees nightclub in his hometown, where he received a lot of respect and was thought to have a New York sound. Due to the positive feedback, Epic continued making local live performances.  

Approaching year 2018, Epic stepped up his delivery dramatically. His timing, his bars and his song writing skills evolved into what we see today as “Epic Drip”. In 2020, he released his first two singles, “F*ck Wit Me” and “Like Money”. 

2021 has started off truly “Epic”. Epic not only released his first E.P. “Infatuation” featuring three singles “Ballin’ on Em”, “Settle Down” and “My Shawty”, but also begun working on his first official video titled, “Type of _”. On January 10th, Epic launched his YouTube channel, “Drip Service Ent.”, where he posted videos for all his current releases. On the 19th of January, Epic created his first official website to promote his brand, which launched on February 1, 2021.

London-based artist Prinz Leo released his new single The More You Give featuring the Portuguese singer Ola Ruth on Friday, 27th November 2020.

Danceable rhythms and sing-along melodies meets the spirits from the 80s. Produced by Camelle Hinds (best known from the UK funk band Central Line) and mixed by Nick Hunt (Depeche Mode), this song keeps what it promises.

Prinz Leo was talking the inspiration for this song in an interview “When I moved from Austria to London I first lived in in Peckham (South London). I often saw Josh, a homeless man without legs, in his wheelchair. He always smiled at people wishing them a great day instead of begging for money. I sometimes gave him some coins. One day, I was busking in Peckham, Josh came over to listen and watch my performance and threw money in my guitar case. This event was so touching and a very powerful life lesson: The More You Give The More You Get (I’m talking about the kind of giving where you don’t expect anything in return).”

The song was written by Leonhard Wimmer (Prinz Leo), co-written by Robert Bridges and Martina Randes, produced by Camelle Hinds (Central Line), mixed by Nick Hunt (Depeche Mode) and mastered by Marcellus Frank.
