Hailing from the United States, Madi Simmons is known to have entered the performing scene at the age of 16. He started out playing the drums, songwriting and singing. Throughout his life Madi’s key musical influences have been Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, John Bonham, Bob Marley and Peter Tosh, and that’s just to name a few……honestly, there are so many other influences, you will actually hear them in his voice.

2004 was the start of a wild ride for Latino-Swiss DJ Santiago Cortes. His hit single, “Don’t Leave Me,” started gaining heavy rotation on MTV worldwide, attracting massive attention from the house music scene. Soon after, the DJ experienced a surge in international bookings from places like Amnesia, one of the hottest dance clubs in Ibiza, Spain. Cortes admits that he still feels the goose bumps rising on his skin while playing his set. Before he found great success in Western Europe through house and pop music, Cortes developed a precocious talent for music while living in his Swiss hometown.

When he left school, Cortes attended the audio engineering school in Zurich, Switzerland, to learn music production.

After engineering school, Cortes spent the early days of his career sending demos to various scouts to get his foot in the door. One of the recipients was actress, model, and singer Samantha Fox, who had many chart-topping singles on the Billboard Hot 100 in the ’80s. She praised Cortes’ album, deeming it as one of the best that she has ever heard. In just two days, she flew to his studio in Bern, where they recorded a remake of the ’80s hit, “Touch Me.” Soon after their collaboration, he was ghost-producing for some of the biggest names in house music. For this reason, Cortes often credits his collaboration with Fox as a pivotal moment in his career.

Although Cortes enjoyed his work as a producer, he wasn’t satisfied with the lack of feedback from the audience that the job entailed. He wanted to witness the ecstasy of a live crowd dancing to his music. Cortes realized that becoming a DJ would satiate this desire. Drawing inspiration from 90s artists like David Morales, Frankie Knuckles, and Daft Punk, Cortes developed his unique sound to play in clubs. Once he found his groove with deep techno, he emigrated to Ibiza, the epicenter of the house music scene.

Cortes immediately began to network upon his arrival to Spain, linking with promoters from as far as Miami and Los Angeles at films, conferences, and music events. In 2004, Cortes attracted the interest of a promoter at Las Salinas, a beach-side restaurant. After he heard a sample of Cortes’ music, the promoter insisted that the DJ play at all of his events. Soon, Cortes was a guest DJ at Amnesia, which led to his residency on the Amnesia Ibiza World Tour. Since 2007, he had his own segment on Radio 105, a Swiss youth radio show, where he played his own set every Friday. While producing his show, Cortes has been also Guest DJ for venues like “Finest Clubs Of The World” and has played his music in countries like Spain, Geneva, Zurich, Dubai, Tokyo, and Singapore.

Cortes is set to release four new house and pop songs, which is a slight deviation away from his usual deep techno sound. “GROOVE ON” is a feel-good anthem that serves as a reminder to unleash one’s inner self for the weekend. “JUST A MINUTE” is a rush of spontaneous fun about living in the moment, even if it’s only temporary. “RUN” chases after a lover that got away in hopes of rekindling the fire that they left behind. Lastly, “HARD TO SAY” is a somber realization that a relationship is at the end of the line but not wanting to sever the ties. Cortes manages to retain an element of his house flair within his songs, making his music stand out from the other pop hits on the radio. It is just the tip of the iceberg in regard to his wide range of talent.

True Ahmed has been making music since 2008. Ahmed grew up going to recording studios with his father, when he used to make music and fell in love with it ever since. In High School he saved enough money to build a small studio in his room and started to learn and expand his sound from there, but it was still early days.

During Quarantine in 2020 he recorded over 300 songs, all unreleased and kept continuing to make music. He then decided to set a goal for himself, to record a whole mixtape in 2 days, and that is how ’So Versatile Vol. 1’ was born.

“I set a goal to record as much as I can in one weekend and this is what I made.” says Ahmed. “My project is a compilation of 10 songs I thought fit into a style of mine. One of my songs ‘Run it Up’ is very meaningful to me because I got my dog barking in the song days before he passed away.”

He decided to title the mixtape “So Versatile Vol.1” because there is only one style out of many others he has with his music.

He continues, “It’s about the versatility. All the songs are similar but it’s within the different projects you can see it!”

“This is my first project I have released to the public because I feel like it is time for me to show the rest of the world what I can really do!”

Gianluca Gallo began playing the guitar at the age of 12 years old, he passed his Music Conservatory exam in Palermo and formed his first Rock group at the age of 16. He has performed with singers such as Francesco Baccini, Luca Barbarossa, Andrea Mingardi, Los Locos, to name a few. In 1998 he recorded a song entitled ‘Quanto Tempo’ and it was this song that brought him success in Sicily and Southern Italy.

This year (2021), Gianluca released his new song ‘Bailando Mambo’, a Latino song, across all digital platforms Worldwide.

“Bailando Mambo” is a song that invites the movement of the body from the very first notes, a story that is told in two languages, trying to conquer not only the auditory senses but also that of his Latino fans who love the contagious pace. Jorge Mujica is a Chilean singer-songwriter, poet, multi-instrumentalist, scientist and engineer. In his conception, art and science are two dimensions intertwined and alive, and from that premise, he observes and writes about the world around him.
At the age of 15 he began with sketches and poems, which he later set to music during his youth in San Felipe, Chile, materializing hundreds of original songs. But it was not until 28 years later that he ventured to launch his first musical production, Aurora, in which he combines elements of Soft-Rock, Pop, Folk and Experimental Music, in a story precisely about pursuing and fulfilling dreams, hand in hand with his two old traveling companions: the guitar and the piano.

Aurora is a 2-part story about miracles and dreams. The first part is called “Austral” and starts with Aurora until Engines. The second part, “Boreal”, goes from Trayectoria Pt. 1 until the end. The idea is simple: Energy and magic leave this world in order to create new miracles everyday. Miracles just want 2 things: That someone fights for them, to realize them, and to be recognized.

Rock and Roll and turbulent relationships have gone hand in hand since the beginning of time. The origins of Blind Season are no different. Beginning with a rag tag group only forming through the means of owning instruments, and an evening involving the smashing of a mutual friend’s car, Blind Season had undergone 5 different incarnations until Shane Sigro the founding guitarist was faced with the ultimate decision between succumbing to normalcy or proving the previous members wrong. Choosing the latter, Sigro doubled down by taking vocal lessons and penning the new music that would breathe life into the new era of Blind Season.

Blind Season’s upcoming album is an ode to loneliness and toxicity that feel as if they were ripped from Billy Corgan’s Diary and featured in a film by Tim Burton. With the current questionable climate of the world there’s no question that this album will find its proper home and become a sign of the times. 

Their latest single ‘Save You’ by Blind Season, musically is the simplest song on the album, but as a completed song it sat around for years. It’s about a long distance relationship that didn’t work out. It comes across powerfully though and the group are proud of it.

It’s been another amazing release year for Dar.Ra and Kusha Deep Music with over 50 titles put out already, starting with ‘Ballads For The Down-Trodden’

The album in essence is a collection of some of the more laid back moments from various albums and EPs over the years, plus two best of remix albums ‘Majestic Retrospectives Vol 1 and 2’ and the ‘Kings n Serfs EP’, which has two of the best videos made for the tracks ‘Sweet As’ and ‘Londinium’.

As the album suggests with its title, it’s a mixture of joy and sadness as only Ballads can deliver. Subjects roll from losing someone too early on both ‘Rewind’ and ‘Evermore’ to the thought of waking up with the perfect girlfriend who happens to be transgender, on a track called a ‘Girl Like You’.

Nothing is as it seems on any first listen with Dar.Ra and his song writing, as digging deep into subtexts reveal another whole level of storyline and subliminal messages, not that anything sinister and mind controlling is at work, but merely to suggest that not everything should be handed away so easily on first experience, which all Art should do.

The past year also witnessed even more classic music released with the ‘Stand Up For The Heroes’ pandemic tribute to Frontline workers around the world who have held it all together for the rest of us to stay at home and wait for the storm to pass. Salute to the Heroes still.
‘Lights Dark Night’ remix and the ‘Beat Bhangra Stance’ remix broke new ground for that Rock/ EDM cross over, while mixing Bhangra with a epic rock track the Beat sounds like a juggernaut coming at you full speed.

‘Whisky n Honey’ and ‘Rise Like The Sun’ EPs added to the sonic storming of the airwaves, with countless Indie radio stations around the world doing what they do best and supporting new music.

Dar.Ra was on call doing interview after interview to get the message out there without the help of the big corporate players in the game.

‘Everything starts with the flick of the green, money changes everything’
A lyric from the track ‘Start Again’, features a re-master from a young Producer based in Italy called Astro who has breathed new life into the track that appeared on the 2008 Soul Hours album.

Astro has been a key ingredient to the releases this year as he has put a magic touch to all of them. The Majestic Retro albums where a labour of love as most of those tracks where already mastered and to make them sound fresh with not much room to maneuverer was not an easy task.

Those two albums feature of 40 tracks between them going back into the vaults and finding gems from the 90s to the present and tracks Dar.Ra’s output for over 20 years.

The Kings N Serfs EP was also a labour of love after finding three songs that had been penned for a film about London which never got released, but sat on the hard drives for four years, before a decision to put them out was made.
Londonium was a huge tour de force of Musical story telling finding a London family who go back through the ages; they where there when the city was born are some of the opening lines, as the tale unfolds.

Family members who served King and Queens down for the past 200 years are mentioned in a 6 and half minute theatre piece which ends up in the present day warning us not to turn our back on what made the place we know today.

It’s not a story that commends what happened in the past, merely the people who played a part in the making of this city. As the title of the EP suggests Kings n Serfs is the everyday people who get used and thrown away when they are no longer useful that the story chooses to honour. There is a great film to go with Londinium as is the case with Sweet As another track which tells the story of the boy who grows up on the wrong side of the tracks from the same family, but has a little bit of luck and finds a piece of gold in The River Thames which brings him riches he could only dream of. The animated film that goes with it is as uplifting as the storyline that it only takes a little bit of belief and luck to turn your life around.

There is a new album in the pipeline and another EP to follow later this year.
We are all just looking for that little bit of luck to change our fortunes; the trick is to never stop believing that it will happen.

Trock Jones was born in Baltimore City and was raised in York PA since he was 15 years old. He is inspired by Lil Wayne – “Growing up I always thought he was the best rapper alive so every time when he would record a song I would try to get on the same beat and outdo him in a verse, by me doing so, I’ve become very very good at songwriting and music writing to the point where now every song I basically make sounds extremely good, I set myself a goal to be better than Lil Wayne and in the process I bettered myself so much as a music artists but now I don’t try to be better to him anymore because I am already just as good.”

Jones claims that he gets his producing skills from Kanye West because “I think that he makes awesome music. Oh, he inspired me to wake up and make beats all the time. One day I will be great like Lil Wayne and Kanye West. All I need is the opportunity.”

He has now released a new track called ‘Fall’.

Fox in The Core are digital artists who quit their full time job to focus on their music career. ‘The Core’ is the first single from Fox In The Core, a synth-wave band with Metal and Electronic influences. Italy’s rock-duo Eradius has just released a brand new EP titled ‘Vol.1’
The 6 song effort features the highlight singles “Another Time”, “Until The End”, and “Handgun” as well 3 still new discoverable tracks in “Give It To Me (feat Stanthony)”, “Naive”, and “See Your Face”

Each track brings its own unique blend of rock, dance, style, and aggression in its respective elements. Having been influenced by others who utilize the low-end of things as the main driving factor, with this group, it really does seem to mesh well!

Eradius consists of members Richard- Bass/Vocals and Eduardo on Drums/Percussion. Often citing acts like Royal Blood, Tool, Rage Against The Machine as influences in what helps create the sound that is Eradius. After working with CB Entertainment management firm in the United States, the band signed a recording partnership with Legend Recordings in 2020.

TaniA Kyllikki has released her official music video for her new single WHY, taken from the up and coming album W.H.Y pt1 due for release July 31st 2021. Independent singer-songwriter TaniA Kyllikki has released a heartfelt new single also named WHY. This very emotional song is based on true events from her own life. And has already received a lot of attention gaining over 130K on Spotify alone in a short time frame. Being a victim of sexual abuse followed by years of emotional and physical abuse, TaniA has displayed bravery by allowing herself to be transparent with her fans by sharing her very traumatic experiences through her lyrics.

The “Lie With Me” singer has always been able to bring great storytelling to her fans with her lyrics that are very raw, vulnerable and beautiful. The music video of WHY gained over 30K in just a day of its release. It starts by showing a woman looking broken and defeatist. As the video progresses further along, TaniA is seen cradling her pillow with tears falling down her face as she looks vulnerably into the camera. Following after this scene, is a curly haired little girl playing the role of TaniA as a child who loved to collect seashells at the beach. It shows a time when TaniA was happy in her life before all the abuse began.

The emotional journey described by fans as being like a movie of TaniAs life, then finishes off with a close up of TaniA looking into the camera with tears filling up in her eyes. The music for WHY has been beautifully produced. The heartfelt music brings all the necessary emotion for each chapter of the song from start, build up, to end. TaniA starts off singing in her lower register which is filled with soulful heavy rich belts. As the song progresses towards the end, TaniA starts singing in her higher range that has a more angelic classical sound the higher she goes. This then finishes with a beautifully controlled high note.

TaniA’s fans desribed how she sang WHY as being a clever way to tell a story of a broken woman who refused to stay down. By singing in her lower register then transitioning into her higher register, this represents great strength from a young woman who has hit rock bottom, to then being able to get back up and heal from the traumatic trauma she has faced. This makes ‘WHY’ feel relatable for TaniA’s audience who may have suffered the same experiences. What TaniA has been able to do with ‘WHY’ is use her creative talent to take back the power that had robbed her of her self-esteem for years. By turning her pain into something positive just by breaking her own silence, will help others heal in their own suffering. Every type of abuse is a serious issue, whether it is sexual abuse, domestic abuse, physical abuse, or mental abuse. Being able to be open about abuse experiences will help and do something to heal wounds. Abuse is not love and TaniAs song WHY provides this very powerful message.

Sugar Loaf Walker is the solo project of artist, Vivek Ayer, which was born in 2009. His work, a set of winding, intriguing and imaginative instrumentals, has come a long way from its creative beginnings. Recording a set of demos in 2009 in Bethnal Green, London, Vivek took influence from the world around him. London’s sprawling urban landscape formed a potent backdrop, the changeable British weather set the tone, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy as well as various conspiracy theories all swirled in rich alchemy to form a set of raw instrumental tracks. “The Sugar Loaf Walk alleyway next to my flat gave the sound its name, and the first song I wrote was to become the first track on this album, The Late Summer.” says Ayer

Fast forward to 2020 and the chaos of the pandemic gave way to the inertia of lockdown. Vivek dug out those old demos and Sugar Loaf Walker was re-born.

“The melodies of the songs inspired me to bring back Sugar Loaf Walker and finish the album, properly this time.” continues Ayer

He worked with a remote team bringing his original demos to life. Inspired by his mother-in-law Penny’s charming car license plate B9 PNY, he named the demo Benign Penny. The album title now has a new and deeper meaning as the artist sadly lost his wonderful mother-in-law in 2010. His daughter was born in 2015, and took on the name Penny, keeping her grandmother’s spirit with her. The album cover, is a photograph of his daughter Penny, caught reaching out to the Fender Stratocaster that you can hear throughout this record.

The album is dedicated to Penelope Ruth Corbett and Penelope Lakshmi Ayer.

What’s your life story as an artist? How did you get into music?
“I was born and raised in a small & humble town in eastern Cuba and moved to Switzerland before finishing my primary school. We always lived very humbly but I was able to take music classes and learned to play guitar from a young age.”

“When we moved to Mexico after primary school, I ditch the guitar and started writing songs at the age of 13. I would rap with my neighbor who was a cuban rapper as well and he would throw rap battles at his place.”

“We lived in a very crazy neighborhood at the time in Mexico City and as “the man of the house” I would do anything to help financially.”

“I started making money in the streets in every way possible to help out at home since it was only my mom, my sister and I.”

“I wrote songs as a diary to express my day-to-day reality.”

“During high school I went through lots of troubles and after losing some important
people in my life & having some family issues, I decided to leave Mexico after a few years for good.”

“I had been staying at my Dad’s in Miami, Florida periodically while living in Mexico.
But at that time it wasn’t an option to move to the States permanently.”

“Moved to London at the age of 22 where I did my personal-training school.”

“I spent quite some time back & forwards between Switzerland & the UK
cause I had to finish up my Instructing-Sargent-Time in Switzerland.”

Tell us about your life story and music journey?
“I started singing at the age of 14 but started making music at the age of 17 in a friend’s bedroom. I made a few demos and it got wind of local rap artists and eventually did features that became songs on TV channels such as channel Aka competing against songs from artists such as N dubz, Tinchy, Tinie tempah back in 2008. After a break from music I came back under the name island banks and have since made 2 singles since July 2020. One of which is a UK garage track and was praised by the UK garage master himself, Artful dodgers very own Mark Hill. In a video response to my track “only one” Mark gave constructive feedback and said that he loved the track and cannot wait to see what I come up with next. Mark is responsible for one half of the duo artful dodger along with Pete Devereux who made Craig David’s debut album, (born to do it).”

“On top of this I have been on local radio stations and won the “Make you Famous” competition on Centre force 88.3 radio in July 2020 for my first track “See you again”.”

“I have also had my debut song on BBC introducing Essex where it got played with great reception.”

What motivates you to do music?
“Current events and personal situations is always key for me. I don’t not like to write about genres I cannot relate to or haven’t experienced myself so everything I write is from the heart and genuine. That’s how you connect with an audience. That’s how you reach new fans. Just be real and true to yourself.”

What are your Inspirations / influences?
“I have many influences and inspirations.
Back in the day growing up my Dad raised us and he showed me the likes of, snoop dogg, NWA, the fugees, Eminem, LL Cool J, Public Enemy,Naughty by nature and many more. It was a very rap /hip hop household growing up.”

“My brother was into RnB and house music and my sister was pop music as she was a little younger so I had alot of music going on that’s why I can listen to many types of music and it helps me write my music today. With me I was into RnB and UK garage mainly and artists like Usher, Craig David, Dru Hill/Sisqo and many more influence my taste and style of music writing today.”

Where have you performed?
“I have performed on channel U live performances (pre recorded), Embassy club London and SX Festival.”

Upcoming projects?
“I have recently signed a single deal with Perfect Havoc Records which is set to be released on September 10th. This track is called “play it cool” and its from producers Menrva who is a House duo from Ireland. The track is a house remake to Anthony Hamiltons “Cornbread fish and collard greens”.”

“I have solo projects coming up and also more features with other house producers and have a few songs in the pipeline ready to go as we speak.”

Joseph C Guess grew up in a music family but didn’t realise his music talent until much later on in his life. Although he didn’t discover his music talent at first, writing poetry became an outlet for him as a teenager.

“I didn’t appreciate music earlier on probably because it reminded me of being the only son who wasn’t musically talented. I was more into sports back then. I think at the age of 14 years old was when I started listening and appreciating music.” says the artist

He started writing poetry in 2020 during the epidemic to release stress from this nightmare in this world. Then later that year him and his wife planned a vacation to Daytona Beach, Florida to celebrate their 9th wedding anniversary and 13 years together.
He came up with an idea to get an unexclusive lease on an instrumental beat from J Grooves and then he wrote a song called LaRisa.

On April 24th, 2021 Artist Toriyama put out a free mixtape on datpiff.com entitled ‘For The People Tho’. This is his first solo project. It’s about uplifting yourself, being liberated but not too serious. Ajgod another artist from Kurse Krew produced most of the songs and mixed everything. He produced tracks like Sharif, Losin & KXNG Yaphet the opening. It’s sung for all the people in the pandemic or somewhat feeling in a way & has to pay nothing but more bills. Toriyama figured there’s a lot in the works why not put out a free tape.

Toriyama is from Oakland, California. He met Perfect Prophet & Ajgod in High School where they started their collective Kurse Krew. The group put out only two projects and slowly got older and phased into their respected elements. Rob Mitchell started songwriting when he graduated from High school. Rob’s music style comes from many elements mostly 80’s and 90’s. Rob is influenced by dance music. House music. After the Pulse Nightclub Shooting, Queer Singer-Songwriter Erene Mastrangeli Had No Choice But To Write Her Upcoming Single to Fight Hate With “Love, Shine”
“Love, Shine”, the new single from Erene Mastrangeli, was released on April 30th on all digital platforms via Beige Records.

When Italian singer-songwriter Erene Mastrangeli heard the news of the tragic mass shooting at Pulse nightclub, in Orlando, FL on June 12th, 2016, time stopped and devastation set in. At the time, what had taken place at Pulse was the deadliest shooting in U.S. history, and it targeted her community, the LGTBQ community, directly, fatally and intentionally. She was practicing for a show when she heard the news. She stopped everything. She didn’t know what to do with herself, but she felt like a hole had opened up in the center of her body: like something went missing. She felt the sudden loss of 49 innocent lives — people she didn’t know personally but whom she felt were a part of her family. She eventually went back to the guitar because that’s the way she processes her feelings, and started playing a riff that became the guitar intro of “Love, Shine.”

“Love, Shine” is the title track of Erene’s new album, due out later this year. The song informed the rest of the album and it marked a huge shift in Erene’s writing. “I believe that “Love, Shine” came to me to give me a specific mission: to nurture love in people’s hearts and defeat hatred, racism, discrimination and inequality through music,” says Mastrangeli.

A phenomena that was paused only by a global pandemic, mass shootings have reemerged in Atlanta and Boulder just to name a few. “This song can’t wait any longer to be released,” she said. After these last two incidents, Erene Mastrangeli set a date to release “Love, Shine” as the third single of the record.

At first you may hear echoes of songwriters from the 70s in Mastrangeli’s music. It’s not an accident that she was nicknamed the ‘Italian Joni Mitchell’ during the recording of the album while recording in Rome. But half way into this song it’s clear that it has Erene’s unmistakable stamp on it through and through. Her unique use of harmonies and chord progressions creates infectious and distinctive sounds, perfectly suited to deliver such a powerful message with a seductive tenderness.

The anguish of her plea to stop gun violence and end the massacre of life is marked by an insistent drum beat in the verse. The plea finds an uplifting and glorious resolution in the chorus where she invokes LOVE to come over us humans and shine bright. The bridge builds majestically up to the last chorus with her backing vocals and electric guitars played by her formidable producer, Daniele Sinigallia. Recorded by renowned musicians she met in Rome during an extended stay in her native land, this song is Erene Mastrangeli’s presentation to the world not just as an artist but also as an activist, operating on the intention to contribute to world peace and defeat discrimination, hatred, racism, and inequality.

As frontman and chief songwriter/lyricist for 80s/90s seminal Pittsburgh rock band, Little Wretches, Robert Wagner rode a wave of local notoriety that led the band to the forefront of the underground music scene. The Little Wretches were founded as a folk/punk band by Robert (guitar) and his brother, Chuckie (violin).  The “classic” Mach 2 era of Little Wretches included Ed Heidel (bass), Chris Bruckhoff (percussion, wind instruments, backing vocals) and Bob Goetz (guitar), rounded out by Dave Mitchell (drums), Mike Michalski (bass) and Ellen Hildebrand (electric guitar.) This rock edition of the band performed regularly and helped the band build its massive following in Pittsburgh.  Michalski, Mitchell and Chuckie Wagner left the band, effectively ending Mach 2.

Mach 3 began with the addition of David Losi (keyboards) and Mike Madden (drums.) When Madden couldn’t tour, drum programmer Gregg Bielski took over.  When Ellen switched to bass guitar, this version of The Little Wretches entered the studio. They recorded two albums, with Angelo George playing drums and Jon Paul Leone playing guitar on a third. National press, attorneys, managers, and publicists came calling, as did life’s obligations, and the Little Wretches disbanded in the late 90s.

Robert Wagner continues to perform at coffeehouses and small clubs. A Master’s Degree holder, Wagner also counsels abused, neglected, traumetized and court-adjudicated youth. He is the co-founder of The Calliope Acoustic Open Stage, an event that has lasted 15+ years. Out of Breath is the title of Philip’s debut single which was released on the 30th of April 2021.
The song is a kind of “burnout-anthem”, which deals with themes like overthinking and the fear of not being able to live up to your own expectations. These thoughts are in many ways a sign of these crazy times we are living in, where Corona virus and a seemingly endless lockdown has made it difficult to remain optimistic. Furthermore it touches upon how it may seem as if you “have it all in your hands”, and have everything figured out (for example on social media), when in reality you are struggling to pick yourself up and keep going.

Philip is the 22-year-old danish singer and songwriter Philip Bæk Hedegaard, who fell in love with music when he got his first guitar at the age of 13. After years of intensive and disciplined practice, and a dream of attending the Royal Danish Academy of Music as a guitarist, he discovered songwriting. The guitar became more of a tool in the hunt for “the good song”, and the dream of becoming a guitarist was replaced by the dream of becoming an artist.

Philip explores the modern pop sound in combination with organic elements. With a playful approach to production, and a youthful and honest lyrical universe, he finds himself somewhere in between the naive and thoughtful.

Spliffy Mars is an up and coming artist who burst onto the streaming scene in 2019. Growing up around areas of Hartford and spending time in the suburbs before moving to East Atlanta at 14, he claims he’d been to so many schools with so many different people and backgrounds, that this diversity influenced the variety in his taste in music and style.

Spliffy Mars combines a variety of compositional and aesthetically pleasing elements to form his unique sound and style which differentiates himself from the basic crowd of hip hop music with sub genres such as hyper pop or spacious music.

Spliffy Mars dropped a 12 track length LP formatted album entitled “Hey,Mars?” executive produced by TySouf On March 19th of this year.

This LP marks the first full embodiment of the artist as it has not a single feature and only features the unique and bright mesmerizing vocal style of the artist as well as the high quality and thorough production of tysouf.

This new LP follows and continues the journey that Mars is embarking on, dabbling in the underground scene trying to break into the mainstream.

Mars talks about many topics from his lifestyle choices his upbringing and serious topics that he goes through in life while making it sound like a party song at the same time with songs like BraVo! or Lemonade. The whole album itself sets itself aside from many and is truly a pure album for those who just want to live life at the fullest potential with no regrets. Mars also claimed the album isn’t a story telling album it’s a project for you to just tap into his side of things as far as his emotions and different moods.

All the songs are very specific to the style Mars has been embodying recently. You can very much describe his music as very fantasy like and bouncy having melodies similar to pop music or having heavy inspiration from pop elements and the genre itself. At the same time when he is not using his fast paced and hyper flows, Mars can dumb down his vocal state to a real calm and low vibrational tone that will seemingly set the mood for any type of activity that involves relaxation or being under the influence.

Being versatile between these two styles he calls “Pop Trap and Spacious Music” it makes the music more exciting and more pulling to the listener. It’s not like u have an album full of the same song over and over again. A prime example on this project is like listening to the third track “Her Dance” produced by platinum producer Pierre Bourne, being an upbeat song with a faster tempo and having a happier melody then going into the fourth track with the song opening with a slower paced tempo and a melody sounding like it came straight out of a 1990s arcade game. Going towards the end of the project the songs go into a real chill state and ends with “Friends Till The End” which is a classic.

Born in Owensboro; the industrial, medical, retail and cultural hub of western Kentucky, Gerry Smoot let the elements of his surroundings birth a multi-instrumentalist musician. Propelled to learn and eager to match his influences; Jeff Lorber, Prince, D’Angelo, George Duke, Art Tatum, and John Blackwell Jr., just to name a few, Gerry was on the “keys” by the age of 2.

With more inspirations from Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea, Gerry was playing the drums by age 7, bass guitar by age 9 and having full music recording sessions by age 12. The dedication and passion for music was a born identity. This vision manifested itself when at the age of 15, Gerry accompanied gospel jazz keyboard producer Ben Tankard on the organ.

“The song is about challenging rappers who need a team to write their lyrics whilst I as a female rapper write all my own.” says Kellee Marie.

Koko Nova is the next buzz in the alternative pop scene. Her soulful storytelling is brought to life by her exquisite sound, vivid lyrics and carefully crafted sonic experiences. The song is a multi-faceted soul/electro-pop gem with a touch of funk and exotic sounds. On the surface it may appear just like another love song, but don’t get fooled so easily! Originally inspired by her love of (or rather addiction to) tea and of course by an important ex-lover, the song has a much deeper message. It draws attention to addictions in our lives: coffee, cigarettes, love, social media, you name it. The more you listen to the song, the more you start travelling through various visions and feelings that it evokes. Koko collaborated on her debut single with a talented producer, Retro Island Studio, who was able to help her bring to life all her visions.

There are multiple instruments throughout the song, but one in particular was key to giving the song a touch of exotic flair: there’s an Indian sitar motif right in the beginning that repeats a couple of times throughout the song, and connects with the tea theme.

Koko grew up in Hungary, the country of Liszt and Bartok, where she was introduced to the world of music as a toddler thanks to her parents. As a child, she loved dancing and singing and began playing the violin. During high school she decided to pursue her interest in science and set off to London to study Computer Science. After graduating, she worked in the corporate world. She thought she found her dream job when she one day realised that she was caged, and far from her free-spirited self. After working and travelling all around the world, and with a failed startup under her belt, Koko finally decided to pursue her lifelong passion for music. Eskeel releases her debut album “Moral Images”, with a healing song called “Trees”.

In her 15 years of songwriting “Trees” holds a special place in the heart of the young artist, Evely Skeel aka Eskeel.

Weeks after Evely got out of hospital having her thyroid removed she fought everyday to get out of bed. Being in nature, walking in the forest among the trees brought her peace and helped her heal from the mental wound that the very aggressive graves disease had caused her, a disease that had haunted her since her young teens. Physically drained and mentally exhausted Evely found comfort gazing at the trees while thinking about the animals and people that suffered fates equal or even worse than her.

She imagined trees holding these sufferers in warm embrace and healing them. This thought washed over her being in calmness and brought her a sense of relief.
“Even when suffering greatly there is strength in thinking about others who suffer as well and what you can do for them” she says.
The song came like a flash and it would be the first song on the album to present one of the key things in Evely’s music – Compassion.
The song kept inspiring Evely to fight for her life and find ways to heal. After three years she recovered and decided to release the song along with the rest of the album, hoping that the song will help others as it did for her.

It is the follow-up to their full length release, AfroSoul Volume II: MaZai, hailed as “earthy and rootsy and good for your ears” by CBC’s Errol Nazareth. Amai Kuda’s debut album, Sand from the Sea, was considered “one of the year’s most exciting discoveries” in 2012 (Nicholas Jennings – Canada’s foremost music journalist and historian).

Amai Kuda et Les Bois have been featured in NOW magazine and on CBC’s Canada Live and Big City Small World, as well as performed at venues like the Jane Mallett Theatre, Harbourfront, The Rivoli, and festivals such as Luminato, Kultrun, and Small World Music Festival. The Proper Authorities is the solo project of singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Keith Adams. Known primarily for his work with the bands Sound Mind and Giant Wow, where he shared bills with acts like Filter, Stabbing Westward, Meat Beat Manifesto, Alien Ant Farm, Moth, Jupiter One, Lab Partners, Dink, and many more. “I prefer to be formless, like water,” JM says. “I once heard a quote from Bruce Lee that said ‘If you put water in a vase, it becomes the vase,’ so put me in any music genre, and I become the genre, like water.”

Much like his genre-melding yet fluid ‘formless’ musical creations, Jesus Muhammed as an artist is a bit of an enigma. Music – for JM – comes to his mind in mental waves and flashes of colors, shapes and patterns.

Whether he has a mild form of the fascinatingly weird disorder known as synesthesia or it’s just the way his musical brain works – whatever the source of his genius, it’s a mesmerizing mix of electronica, hip hop rhythms, other-worldly vocals and street-style rhyming that he creates.

Born in Brooklyn and raised in Saint Albans, Queens, JM took music lessons from a former James Brown guitarist, and was surrounded by 1950s pop and 70s reggae played by his music-loving parents. They bought JM and his brother a full set-up of instruments as they were growing up, but while his mother hoped he’d learn to play classic pop songs, JM instead wanted to bring to life the music he heard in his head.

“When I first started making music, I was excited and anxious – I wanted to create more than I wanted to chase tale,” he says. “Creating music keeps me alive.”

A self-described loner and artsy brooding character as a teen, JM’s life revolved around his Walkman and a ton of CDs in his book bag. He wrote lyrics as a child, but it was a friend in High School that spurred him on to compete in rap battles – he would battle rappers and spoken-word artists from other neighborhoods, then go home and write more scathing rhymes to be ready for the next day’s battle. His musical passion turned serious as he started a group called tha Villianz Gang. They played some shows and had a great time, but massive egos and internal strife tore the group apart. JM’s rap-battle talent and reputation quickly exceeded his competition, so he decided to ratchet his music career up another level with a music manager. He’d go on to perform in small New York City venues, paying his music dues (as they call it) and learning the ropes of the music business and performing.

JM used this time to begin reinventing himself as an artist and knew that he was going to start making his own rules for his music and career. JM came out of his reinvention musically reborn, focusing intently on the visual aspect of his music, and the mystery.

“This is music I can see,” he says. “The art is a response to my existence.”

Kaila Love’s Sporty Empowerment Anthem Reaches NBA2k21 & ESPN.
Kaila Love is a Hip Hop artist from the Bay Area, CA who went from a homeless teenager to a college graduate on a full scholarship from UC Berkeley.

She started becoming known around campus for hosting Hip Hop events, being the president of the Students for Hip Hop Club, and designing a unique Hip Hop curriculum to teach a class on Tupac, and even performing her original music at her graduation in front of 25,000 people! Since graduating from Cal, she’s gone on to earn an additional degree in Recording Arts.

Finding out that there are less than 5% of women in audio engineering, she wanted to pave the way and show other women that if she can do it, so can they!

You can see the way she lifts up other women in her community through her most recent work, “Half Time” – which is featured on ESPN and in the NBA2k21 video game soundtrack and official playlist.

Perfect for Women’s History Month, this dynamic music video features women ranging from age 16 to 91. As an independent artist, Kaila Love is intentional with who is a part of her projects. For example, in the “Half Time” video – she features two Black-owned, family-operated businesses – King’s Boxing Gym in Oakland, CA and Soaring Eagles Taekwondo School in Vallejo, CA.

She states, “If I’m going to spend money, I want it to go back to the community – not just the one time payment I spend to rent the space, but money that’s generated beyond. For example, three members of my filming crew actually ended up getting paid memberships to the gym. This is what I seek to do throughout my career and on a much larger level – connect people and generate wealth for all those around me.”

Cincinnati, Ohio based Brian Napier JR. also known as The Great Raw records controversial album in his home studio, after nearly having an intense debate with a preacher. The Great Raw took his minor frustration & channeled it all lyrically. He teamed up with producers Verleins, Prxphesy Beats, Walk Among kings, & Blunt Chrxst in order to highlight his aggressive distorted vocals by increasing the sub & bass frequency of kick drums on hardcore instrumentals.

This Album reminds us of a fusion of Scarlxrd, $uicideboys & Ghostemane’s songs “Heart Attack” & “Flesh” but with Raw’s own signature Dark Grungy style.

“I was just minding my own casually and then Pastor Nosey the Baptist made it his business to question me.” says Raw.

Apparently Raw’s style of fashion served as an opening for questions with an expectation of a reasonable explanation. This whole back and forth conversation ended with a spark of creative ideas for the artist and influenced the title of his first album Animo Demonium.

The Animo Demonium Album is exclusively available on his website only, because the artist has hopes of connecting with his community without the intervening of streaming platforms. However he has plans on releasing the album on all platforms around August of this year. He has already been featured on GasMask Magazine, World of Goth Magazine, Muzique Magazine and received airplay on Titan Radio. ‘I Don’t Want To Stay’ is the first single of Jeremy Engel. This song has been recorded at Windmill Lane in Ireland in 2020 and has already gained several awards. Jeremy wrote this song the night of the passing away of his loved one. This song is about the acceptance of time going by and the importance of leaving the past where it belongs.

Jeremy wrote his first songs in Dublin while walking down the cobblestone streets around the famous Guinness Storehouse where he worked as a tour guide. He found his inspiration in the music of Rory Gallagher, Glen Hansard or Leonard Cohen. Jeremy proposes a subtle and powerful music where delicacy and wild feelings come together to create the harmony between contrasts. His music is sincere and organic.

Pop recording artist, actress, and author Katrina Kusa is back with another bop titled Rising.

In one of Katrina’s most personal releases yet, the young artist touches on the attention she has received since her viral single ‘Ta$te It’, which was released last year, and puts the haters to rest.

In the catchy pop chorus Katrina exclaimed “I’m gonna rise up, I’m rising, rising, rising, all that smack you talked you thought it’d bring me down, you tried it.”

As Katrina’s uniquely identifiable tone bellows throughout the moving record you are immediately inspired and filled with the confidence that Katrina is talking about.

Echolily is one of those rare artists who come into your life without announcement. And never leaves. That’s what happened to us, and frankly, we love her all the more for it. This young, immensely talented woman, rocked our worlds with her brand new release, entitled rather appropriately “Under the Clocks (Stay)”. And the tune resonated with something so deeply embedded and thoroughly honest inside us that since then, we just can’t stop listening to this amazing track. It’s literally on repeat, and what we particularly love about it is that it never gets old.

You know how, with some songs, you listen to them one, two, ten times, but then after that, you’re kinda sick of them? That doesn’t happen with “Under the Clocks (Stay)”. Maybe it’s because of the echo chamber effect (since it was literally recorded in an echo chamber, true to the artist’s name). Maybe it’s Echolily’s hushed, sensual voice slithering into your earbuds and refusing to let go. Or maybe it’s the fact that with every new listen, you find another thing to hold on to. Another sound or fragment, or word that you just seem to understand a little bit better.

Echolily definitely isn’t one of those artists who scores one hit wonders, because her lyrics are just too complex for anything as mundane as that. Here is an artist who knows how to pull on your strings in just the right way to get into your head and never let go. She is a skilled lyricist, and an accomplished musician, and together, these two skills combine to create a powerfully unique track.

“Under the Clocks (Stay)” is a love song, but you don’t need to be in love to enjoy it. Or rather, you need to be in love with life, and with the miracle that is music, to appreciate the masterpiece this song is.
